Great news, a good defence starts with a good keeper and we have signed an excellent one....FF could be as important a signing as Peter Shilton and Anti Niemi were...I'm very happy!...

Happy, a sign of intent that quite a few needed. especially myself.

Excellent signing and as others have said really hope Boruc stays but it does seem unlikely.

Boruc could always accept there's always likely to be two options for each position, rise to the challenge and...y'know...fight for his place by proving himself the better keeper.

Or does that not happen in football these days?

Have the mongs that said we were asset stripping gone into hiding now? 10 million quid on a keeper and we're apparently asset stripping. Any of you miserable sods reading this do yourselves a favour and shut your gobs in future.

Ever heard of the Champions League sunshine? You know that big club competition where the best clubs in the world play? Forster's proved himself in that.

If Yoshida is in defence then we might need both of them in goal.

Seriously though I'd keep Boruc in, not fair on him to drop him, and there would be a lot of pressure on Forster should he be starting instead.

My mate was in the Newcastle academy with Forster and Andy Carroll. Said Carroll was an arrogant arsehole but that Forster was a really down to earth, sound bloke. Think that's been reflected by his respect to Celtic when he could have pulled a Lallana or a Lovren. Welcome to the club :)

Build from the back...we now have two good keepers competing with and helping each other. Gazza really needs to go out on loan and get some game time. He has the tools but needs experience...being at Southampton isn't really helping him. A loan spell with the option to call him back would be good for him.

I'm not one of those mongs DT; always given the board time. However, come on after a few too many beers? Yours is a seemingly unecessary aggressive post.

Well he must be drunk all the time because he's unnecessarily aggressive all the time.

To be fair the board handled things badly.....there was not enough info and reassurances being passed to the fans. They had every right to think that. For the record if that is their view then they are aloud to express it.. We can do without the rhetoric about them having "to shut their gobs"
Now you do us all a favour and keep your insults to yourself!
