Change to this venue would be ideal:-

    http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghelamco_Arena

20,000 capacity, built few years ago and only short distance from Lokoren. Do not know what rivalries are like in Belgium and may be a none starter!

Let's not get delusional here, Lokeren aren't going to swap grounds to suit the away team. For a start the rent would probably cost more than the extra ticket sales, and they're going to want to for themselves the best possible chance of proceeding. The smaller the away following the better for them.

The seating requirements for the playoff round are 4500 seats, which they obviously have, the sticking points are adequate press and corporate facilities, but the ground looks like it can facilitate those, and it's been said on these forums that works were done specifically to meet UEFA standards and I don't see why they wouldn't.

The game will be played at Lokeren, the only question mark is the allocation we receive, which will probably be the minimum - why would they give us more than they have to?

Agree with all of that. Reckon we will be allocated a few hundred tickets to play at Lokeren.

Trencin switched grounds and doubled the crowd.

    Money talks.

They had no choice - their only decision was which ground to switch to - their ground doesn't reach uefa standards

If they're not willing to switch venues and allocate us a decent amount of seats then we should do the same and allocate them the bare minimum at the KC. **** 'em I say if they're not willing to negotiate.

    I doubt they'd mind 1250 too much.

Shouldn't this be merged with the existing thread were we've already started discussing Lokeren?

message i got from a Lokeren lad

"Hey! I'm a fanatic Lokerenfan who visits every game.

Our stadium has 8000 seats. You will normally get +- 650 tickets, which I know is peanuts for you English lads. Club MAY decide to give you an extra 450 tickets (stand C, which is normally ours, seating stand behind the goal near the visitors section.)
The stadium is small but oldschool. You can compare it with a stand like AFC Wimbledon's I guess.
Maybe you can persuade to buy some tickets of fans who are in the "A-tribune", the bobo stand as we call it but I doubt it.

However, you are all welcome in the City. It'll be yours actually. We're just a small club that play in Europe like every ten years.

However, our away % is very high in comparison with our home attendance. I guess we will come to Hull with around 2000-2500.

We played Man City ten years ago and they had all a lot of fun.

BTW: 90% of all Belgians speak English!

That's a good following if they are right. I dont like the Premier League rule about maximum of 3,000 - it should be 10% for any size ground.

A group of City fans who we met up with earlier today have said that they feel that Brussels will be the venue. It does make perfect sense if true.

Ok, will look further into this further when i get back monday afternoon in time for tea and tiffen.

Would you advocate us playing the return leg at Elland Road to please Lokeren if they wanted to bring 5k with them?

No. It wouldn't happen. Why would they move it so we can take more fans?

"Stand C will be yours too, I just heard from the Club. So around 1000 tickets for you guys. I heard we get 1600 tickets. So away stand will be packed as well. Tickets home will cost around 35€, that's 28 quid."

Mr hat, you seem qute hysterical in your desire for the game not to be moved. Why, pray tell? May I posit that one does not wear the trousers within your relationship and has been banned from going and, in a fit of pique, will only be happy if no one else can watch the game.

<laugh> You've just posted that comment to one of the few people on this board who went to Zilina.

Not a good start for a newbie.

If you'd have said ten years ago that City would be playing away in Europe but that there would not be enough tickets to accommodate our following I certainly would have nodded my head knowingly.

But I imagine some nonbelievers may have been a little sceptical......
