Fingers crossed once the season starts and with a good performance tomorrow, hopefully we'll get back to football discussions One thing I will say though Keith, if you think this is bad, wait until we all start insulting each other
Any one remember this a few years back. Its still makes me PML.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L2K-8FRdk-Q
Not just "recently",Matthew. I can't remember it being any other way. It's the nature of the place, and the people who frequent it. The divisions do get deeper from time to time, however.
Yes,I occasionally frequent it. I like to think that I have left a positive footprint, but, since one cannot be everyone's cup of tea, some would disagree. Doubtless, you would be prime among them, but I can live with.
Well,I thought he stated his case with great conviction, full of highs and lows. Can't wait for the publication of his memoirs. Should be riveting stuff.
So, Monk was surprised and disappointed by Chic's 'sudden' move! 'I wasn't really expecting Chico to go,' 'I am a little bit disappointed, but I can't grumble with Chico at all. He has been magnificent with me since I took over â he did very well for me. 'He was a very good trainer and a very good player for us. But he came to us and said he wanted to go.' http://www.swansea.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=365917 Maybe Chico caught wind his replacement had been lined up for some time but he hadn't been told (yes, I do know) ... 'Napoli and Argentina defender Federico Fernandez is on the verge of a â¬10m move to Swansea City. The transfer had already been in the works during negotiations for Michu, but according to the Corriere dello Sport that move is now ready for completion.' http://www.football-italia.net/54105/napoli-send-fernandez-swansea That finally confirms things for me -another player edged out either by design or inexperience. The scummy part is Monk trying to make out he was 'disappointed' and that it was all Chico's, just after claiming it was JdG's fault he wasn't coming back to Swansea. The Vorm situation was handled just as poorly. I don't know Monk but given the reported history of undermining managers and not getting on with players it seems he does his work in a cowardly fashion. Results had better be outstanding if Monk is to regain respect.
Bob, you could very well be correct. However, it could be that Monk and the Club were worried that, with Michu, Poz, Pablo & Canas (presumably) leaving, Chico may decide to follow his fellow Spaniards and go as well? In which case, it would seem sensible to have potential replacements either in mind or lined up.
After Jenkins's moaning about paying 12 million for Bony and we must get back to the swansea way , 2 million £ Chico 's replacement looks to be 8 million £ Fernandez .... what changed .
Was there ever any official moaning about the £12 mill or is it just rumors? Maybe it's just not true....
8 million for a defender is more than 12 million for a striker . Jenkins was the one moaning about paying so much for Bony and then spends HUGE on a defender . What happened to getting back to the " Swansea Way " with Jenkins , what changed valley ?
Jenkins never moaned about paying £12m for Bony. £8m for a defender is what we need to pay. It will mean less goals conceded and more games won. Bargain.
Roofjack... Complains when players leave. Complains when players arrive. Complains when Huw pays too little for player. Complains when Huw pays too much for a player. Does anyone know what we can do to make Roofjack happy? Whatever happens, he wants the opposite. So we do do the opposite, but then that's not good enough either.
