The long straight at Haydock should definitely suit ROTO but for me,at the price,I won't be backing him. He certainly has his chance but always seems to be finishing well with an excuse and this looks an above average G3.
Newmarket is the best meeting and there's another of those unraced 2yo races. My eye goes to Angel Vision, who I think will turn out to be a good filly at last for that wonderful filly Islington. But Stoute rarely winds them up totally first time out and is more concerned that they get an education. I wouldn't put anyone off backing her, but better backed E-W if more than 6-1.. My win money would go on the Godolphin filly Amazing Speed, with again Doyle booked being a pointer. Couldn't be better bred being by Sharmardal out of a full sister to Bernardini. She's not there to make up the numbers. The Sweet Solera looks a decent race and I'd hope Alonsoa keeps her unbeaten record. She is taken on again by Pack Together who was beaten 3/4 of a length. As it's a Group race there's no change in the weights but Hughes got off her at Sandown and said he couldn't believe how green she'd run after having won on her first start. I'd expect a bit more from her today so a sporting fc may be in order. Disappointing with the hundreds of maidens out there they can only get 4 starters for the 5th race. Later on the card I will be myself disappointed if Purple Spectrum doesn't win the last. He looked as if the penny had dropped at Sandown. Three tips in a day: that's inflation. But not much value I'm afraid.

It's only Jim Crowley's first week of being freelance but he has picked up rides today at Haydock on two Godolphin mounts along with W.Hagges, he also rides David Evans stable star patience Alexander. I think his services are is being snapped up as they should be.
Morning guys I don't know about you but I can't stand shergar cup day to me it just seems it's easy pickings for the bookies
Hi people -he the going is soft at Ayr -then Ronald Gee in the 8 10 must have a great chance -G Lee booked to ride... Agree bout ascot -phoney racing.....
Patience Alexander has to give a ton of weight away to 4 rivals but looks good enough to pull it off. The beating of Tiggy Wiggy would have him down to group 2 class. The ground last time out was probably a little too fast but good ground at Haydock should suit. Todays Yankee - Patiene Alexander 2/1 Lightning Thunder 6/4 Cascades 5/1 Winters Moon 11/4
The Shergar Cup gimmick card is to be bypassed for betting as I have had my fingers burned here in the past as you have no idea how the races are going to be run. If it did not dry out too much, I would fancy the William Haggas runners in the last two races at a normal British meeting. If rain hits Haydock, there could be significant withdrawals and in the 3:25 Lightning Thunder takes a big drop in class but should be avoided as she must have fast ground and a fast pace plus the stable is not in great form. In the Rose Of Lancaster Stakes (2:55), avoid Hillstar on this ground and over this trip and True Story also probably wants it quicker, so preference is for Vancouverite who can reverse Newbury form with Amralah as he had been off the course for a while before that race. At Newmarket, the Sweet Solera Stakes (3:35) looks like a very hot race and good cases can be made for half a dozen. Winters Moon has to be respected with the trainer’s recent record in the event and it is a favourite’s race. Hard to see why The Queen’s Pack Together will reverse latest running with Alonsoa; but I am going to give Muraaqaba another chance after her disappointing effort at Ascot last time, stepped up a furlong.
Who is that talking on ATR? Uhhhhhhhh, Aaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh but um aaaahhhhh errrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. For Christ sake string some words together. Can't handle that. I'm switching channel.
I have got a free bet in the 2;05 ascot. Every horse appears to have drifted in the betting. Anyone got any ideas?
Yea. They're all s**te PS Actually that's not true; hadn't looked at the race and feeling a bit frivolous after having to turn off ATR. The most inarticulate person I have ever heard. Anybody's race. If pushed I would go for Goldream and Addictive Dream
Groundbreaking @ 14/1 2:20 Haydock In his ATR Blog William Buick thanks his boss Mr Gosden for letting him off Lahaag to ride Groundbreaking for the Appleby barn and he is very positive about his chances! http://www.attheraces.com/article.aspx?ref=redirect&hlid=546940&lid=william buick blog The Bookmakers have Lahaag @ odds ranging from 7/1-9/1 & Groundbreaking ranging from 12/1-14/1 ??? I think Groundbreaking @ 14/1 is excellent value and am having a Max Pony Each/Way Punt @ 1/4 odds 1st 3places. P.S. As jockey's are reputed to be the worst tipsters I must have a small saver on Lahaag Good Luck
Why as soon a sthe horses past the post does the commentator tell everyone about some points that no one is interested in. It gets worse each year this non-spectacle.
I quite fancy Ingleby Angel in this next at Ascot. This is a horse that is just coming back into his best form. He also has Richard Hughes in the saddle which on Shergar Cup day is a stroke of luck. At 8-1 worth a punt.
Emma Jayne Wilson now leading jockey in the Shergar Cup at Ascot! She sure is a better jockey than Dandy Nicholls ever was.
