Got to disagree Gonz,Cavani just isn't at the same level as the Suarez/Falcao's and he never will be. Don't want him at any price
? So because he isn't at the same level as those two (like 99.99999% of footballers) we shouldn't get him?
there isn't that much better than Cavani out there at the moment. Who would you suggest? Falcao has turned us down. Cavani would be a great option for us to have imho, I actually think he'd really fit our team and playing style
Cavani would not be happy spending time on the bench, and I dont see him being full of goals. I'd be happy enough with Bony.........goals in him, prem. experience, half the price or better
Cavani might be a bit overrated but he's still very good and has scored very well over the past 4 seasons.
In Italy it was 2 goals every 3 games. Last season at PSG a goal every other game. (had family problems/divorce which may have affected him on field) So his rate has gone down slightly- but still very good... PSG may not have suited him as well. Hard working player- may fit Rodger's mould. 27- same age as Suarez obviously not going to create as much as Suarez. He'd be a very decent option.
So apparently Arse have accepted a Barca bid for Vermaelen. Rules out a move for Agger? (unless Barca are going to do the unexpected and buy a defence)
Looks that way. Think someone read a rumour and took it further than it was, floated the idea of Agger leaving to see what people would think
This is pretty good to follow, think some of you do already https://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/football/gs/transfers/eurobot/
Cavani may not be on the same level as Suarez, but he;s still a top player. He was easily the best striker in the world when he was at Napoli. Even his record at PSG isn't so bad and that was playing second fiddle to Zlatan, and playing out on the wing. He's a hard worker, can create but he's a natural goal scorer. I definitely wouldn't mind him. Falcao is a different story altogether - turning 29 in a few months, MEGA wages, MEGA fee just to loan him and coming back from a serious injury. Big risk to spend that much money on a player who may not return to the highest level. Back in the day, he was immense but I fear he is a big risk at the moment. Personally - I prefer to go for Lacazette or Volland. Versatile players who can be moulded by Brendan into the current system. How many world class players have LFC ever actually signed? Not many - we sign very good players and make them world class. Just because we have CL and better commercial deals in line doesn't mean we can just go and spunk it all on wages and fees. We still have to be careful and sustainable, or else we end up with players like Lucas, Reina, Johnson, Agger who are on big contracts and hard to shift.
