Apparently, Villareal have signed potential replacement for Mussachio - Victor Ruiz. Initially on loan from Valencia, with a buy option. Hopefully, It might mean the Mussachio transfer in moving ahead.
Just another name to add to possibly being an expensive flop, we should be banned from making transfers until at least three of the seven we signed (last summer) show they can perform to a high standard for more then 20 games. Eriksen has passed (just) but the others are nowhere near.
......it sounds like the glass is not only half empty, but has a bloody great hole in the bottom too!..
Boss doesn't even have the ****ing glass! Unless it's a glass that has Tony Pulis etched into it, then he'll have two!
A claim that Yedlin is a done deal.... http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2892...l-tottenham-finalise-yedlin-deal?ICID=HP_BN_1
If he does stay with Seattle until January he's going to be shattered when he does arrive - since march he'd have played a full MLS season, with a World Cup in the middle of it.
I think this is a good deal for 2.5 million. (Though it is Goal.com, I believe it anyway.) It's a small price to pay for a 21 year old who looked like he had a lot of potential at the World Cup. Our buys so far have been extremely sensible, I think: modest amounts of money for young defenders (+ a keeper) who provide necessary backup and/or are liable to greatly increase in value. Plus we have our US connection back, which is always a good thing. Seattle is the best team in the MSL. The downside, in addition to the hair, is the name. DeAndre? Really?
I don't see the point of signing a player we can't play until January. It's a bit like getting engaged ie getting a bike for Christmas you can't ride until Easter but hey ho. Still feel that we should let Ade go and get another striker in. I just watched a lad called Martial and he looks useful but as for our signings I think we are missing a major name still. I see no trouble in getting passed Limassol.
Buying a promising youngster for a very cheap price and allowing him to continue to gain first team experience in the US? He'll probably go out on loan to another English team for the second half of the season over here, to help him to adjust to the game in this country. Bringing him straight over and playing him in the cups could work too, but it might be risky, especially with Walker's recent injury problems. Yedlin (Yidlin?) looks very attack-minded, so he might struggle initially with the defensive side of the game.
Yedlin another cheap signing with potential. How can we expect to get back in the top 4 when we go for unproven youngsters on the cheap while our rivs go for expensive proven stars.
We shouldn't expect to be in the top 4 when five clubs have more money than us. And we can't possibly hope to catch them up by doing the same as them. Our only option is to buy quality more cheaply. It's been working pretty well so far.
