I thought Nani was the most likely, but seems it was Smalling. Either way, I was not convinced Vermaelen was a good signing.
was definately smalling. sure wenger wanted him when he was at fulham. would rather have vermaelen than smalling but if im honest i dont/wouldnt have much confidence in either. smalling is a gift for opposition and verm hasnt got enough game time the last year and even before that i wouldnt have called him "world class"
