I'd probably agree seeing Rodriguez went for 70 odd million a 20 million world class buy is a bargain when he could be turned round to say utd for 40 this morning I hoping can at 10 and origi at similar will prove to be bargains
Sanchez is not a bargain at £35. So many deluded gooners. his price was apparently nearer £20m before the world cup. the guy hasn't even kicked a ball yet in the prem. Ozil was supposed to be a "bargain" too at £40m, and he's sunk like a stone in the prem.
I don't know.. I know at 18mil pre world cup i'd have called it a total bargain. 35mil is all his money. maybe its fair price but who knows
I still think Ozil will be a success long term for them. He was very good at the start. Think Arsenal are stronger again this year. That's 2 windows now that they've got a marquee signing. We need to do the same.
ermmmm maybe. this year we've got the cash so maybe so. Arsenal on the other hand have an issue Calum Chambers is a squad player right now Mathieu Debuchy fills a gap left in first 11 David Ospina is a reserve Alexis Sanchez is the marquee signing My opinion is they have a good defense, the keeper is getting better as he gains experience and age, the midfield looks good but... up front. its giroud and the bambi on ice reserve. I feel they need to sign one striker to be really good. Sanchez and ozil are very very good players indeed. expensive but thats arsenals choice isn't it?
I think Giroud may have a very good season. With Sanchez, Ozil, Cazorla, Ramsey, Walcott, etc pulling strings behind him he may find the net (tap ins) a hell of a lot. Look at players like Gomez or Toni who have never been stand-outs in their own right but when the rest of the team gives them that kind of service, have had very prolific seasons.
I've no idea how you'd collect stats on this and I certainly couldn't be arsed trying to but, imo, more much-vaunted "marquee" signings have ended up as disappointments than resounding successes. I know assessment of success is subjective, but I'm thinking of players who make a huge difference to a squad, and instigate a significant improvement in a club's fortunes, not ones who merely "fit in" well. Which is why, although I can share in the buzz of a big name coming in, I'm not really that bothered if we don't get one.
So basically we were ****ing morons for playing Borini in a friendly when there was a huge offer on the table for him. WTF were we thinking??!
I think its more to do with us wanting to get a striker in first before letting Borini go. Once we sign a striker then I think Borini will go.
I think any signing that succeeds after a transfer is seen as a bargain no matter what the price. Money doesn't matter if they work out. Also, I don't understand the stick Giroud gets. He's had a brilliant start for Arsenal in the last two seasons only to slow down after being burnt out because Arsenal don't have anyone else to share to burden with him. If they can keep Walcott and Podolski fit along with the arrival of Sanchez, he will play well throughout a full season IMO, just don't play him every single game.
Well... Ronaldo for 80mil wasn't eaxactly a huge trophy boost to real but he was a huge success. I think real "claim" to make the fee back over contract Bale is another example of no way it pays even if they did get the CL. figo, zidane,.... robinho for citeh? veron for utd... shevchenko for cheslea. I dunno I can't think of too many really really 50 mil + players who've changed the world Robben is a good example of a guy who left madrid and turned up in bayern to huge success which would be the total opposite.
I think this is probably the best way of putting it on the bargain thing. if carroll had have got 20 goals people woudl defedn him even if we were donkeying it to make it happen Also giroud. he is decent, he is a box player who finishes chances but he is not the best or quickest and is on his own. I think when you said burnt out you really nail it.
Have we signed Mkhi yet? What number will he wear? What number will Falcao wear? I'm getting a Falcao 7 tattoo.
