I have studied the statistics of both players and have to say they look very similar
Sharp has played 341 times and scored 146 goals whilst Ross has scored 110 in 333 games
they are both 28 and similar in build .
Ross likes a drink and has lost his licence ones whereas Billy seems a really sound lad
Ross cost 11m Billy will cost nothing the stumbling block is that Sharp is on 15k a week at Southampton .We could sort that out by paying him a signing on fee of say 500k and 5k a week but of course other clubs may offer him more Brighton for one
My take we should get him he seems a very good professional suitable for us a better [prospect than Mccontract Ross

Cellino has said he doesn't like the look of Sharp despite Hockaday requesting that we sign him (that's the strong rumour)

Billy Sharp is a decent player, hasn't been that great last couple of seasons but has the ability. To me Sharp is more of a proper poacher whereas Ross creates alot of his own chances, to be honest Sharp reminds me alot more of Somma than Ross

Good post ... for me Sharp is in decline now, he has clearly lost his, erm, sharpness .... would prefer to see an up and comer like Delort who is in form and hungry to make a name in England

His goals at the end of the season got us promotion. If you play 2 up top, he will thrive.

If previous signings this summer are anything to go by, I wouldn't mind betting the new striker will be someone not yet mentioned by anyone

My boss is a Southampton fan goes to every game and he rates Billy very highly says he's a really nice guy and Championship is the perfect level for him. He says Premier was step too far. I think he would be a cracking signing for us if we could get him.

Apparently we have had a bid rejected for Byram of £4.5m. Could you see Sharp being used as part of a deal?

Billy sharp will want between 15-25k which is sadly not the policy of MC even though he would probably be on a free to get him off the Reading Bill

Didn't Cellino say he wasn't interested in Sharp, he was too old?
