Each to their own, get rid of them and our attendances would drop by 10k, maybe more.

It was dreadful, we turned up early about 20 minutes before kick off and just about every block of seats together was taken. We (an enormous group of 3) had to split up I ended up sat round a load of meffs who thought Sagbo was Aluko, one of them was asking if it was a premier league match, and they were rambling some other nonsense.

But the fact that even getting to your seat 20 pissing minutes early is too late if you want to sit with whoever you've gone with means unreserved seating is complete and utter s**te. Absolute dog s**te. Not to mention the 10% capacity penalty.

Sure it might work well at away games or not so well attended home games but for a bumper crowd like that it was an epic failure. I don't see, by any stretch of the imagination, that anyone could say that worked? Atmosphere was terrible as well. Groups were all split all over the place as passive sit down quietly types had got in an hour in advance with their packed lunches and plugged up all the spaces so no sizeable group could fit together.

On another note I overheard from a group of lads in the south stand concourse at half time "I wanna smash Stuart Blampey". Own up who was it <laugh>

We walked in literally as the game kicked off, found three seats together, sat down and watched the game, no problems with unreserved seating at all.

From the upper west we could see rows of seats sometimes up to 6/7/8 seats together in the north, east and south stands, so I don't understand why you struggled so much.

We walked round for 3 or 4 minutes moving between blocks n the south, even one of the steward was helping us look, most we could find was 2 together. Saw a large empty block down slow in the south east corner in thee acts stand but other than that I couldn't spot any empty areas.

I guess unreserved seating was planned with a low crowd in mind where it would have worked fine. Terrible idea for a sell out game.

Edit: there were hundreds of empty single seats all over the entire stand where people had decided to leave a gap from the group closest to them and a fair amount of two seats together but couldn't find 3 or more for **** or piss.

A Trencin Lad asked me about a Hostel & held up 3 fingers. I guessed it was referring to 3 of em

I said I had only seen Hostel 1 & 2 and Did'nt Know a 3rd had been made. Shoulder shrug & ****ed off.

Sky Sport's La Liga commentator, Rob Palmer, had this to say...

@robbopalmer: Historic night at KC as @HullCity edge further in Europe. Great atmosphere with noisy North Stand. Reminded me of Bunkers (ask yer dad).

I thought that, outside of a promotion game, that was the best atmosphere at the KC for years.

From W7 it sounded way louder than normal.

Obviously it was unreserved seating and not the full away end, so it's too early to say what will happen at league games when everyone is in their new seats, but it was encouraging.

Yeah, I went in the East and the North sounded decent. Gives me hope for when I sit there this season.

Agreed. From the South stand, North was loudest, but East wasn't much quieter than normal, so the switch might actually work. The group near me tried to join in with the "We're the South stand" song, but were drowned out by the (much louder) Northers. Better luck next time?

The north stand will be loud and proud once we have all North Stand pass holders together

Sat in south stand the North Stand was louder then the east stand though noise from both stands was great to hear

The views are great from behind the goal especially high up . Just like the view was great on bunkers.

Just need some were we can hang flags up in north stand

    Roll on stoke at home

I was in the East Stand, I don't know what sections as I moved at half time. Thought the atmosphere was spot on considering there were so many very small children in the ground. The North Stand will be a lot better when is full for league games, and with the East Stand backing them up I think match days at the KC will take on a new dimension.
Very good last night IMO. Ridiculous idea about the alcohol ban and the number of empty seats but otherwise I thought it was very promising.

last time i saw someone with a flask at a football game was in the mid/late 70s when me grandad used to take us.
this is probably because i dont spend my time at football squalking about like a pretentious meerkat - which the likes of you seem to be .

I dont know why people can't just **** off and let others enjoy a game how they see fit .

I'd hate to be the perfect fan , tutting at everybody else for 90 mins especially if someone leaves at 89 mins .

Theres also enough people to fill the KC that moan about the lack of atmosphere and singing -
if we could co-ordinate a tutting section we would be the boss
    get a life - miserable twats !!!

I got into the ground at about 7pm. Walked out into E7 to attempt to find 2 seats together. There was ones dotted about allover and people "saving" seats, but literally nowhere that we could sit together. In the end we gave up and headed down into the South East corner. So I think I'd have to agree with Mr. Hat here, apart from the fact there was 4,000 unneccesarily empty seats, unreserved seating is ****e!

As for the noise, I thought the south east corner was pretty good. Singing was probably less frequent than usual but was louder when it did come along. As soon as I heard something coming from the North stand I tried to get everyone going around me. Most played along pretty well! My 7 year old daughter made more noise than most though! I'm teaching her well!

North stand was great no issue getting a group of five of us together most people getting involved in chants, Apart from the guy behind me with the winiest voice thinking he was Arsene Wenger constantly everything was great.

Correct on both counts. My original post was 10 mins before kick-off and you could sense the anticipation and excitement as well as the nerves. The atmosphere was better than a league game and I thought it was good but not close to the Cardiff promotion game

For all its faults the unreserved seating at least made the ground look full, despite the 4,000 empty seats, by having them dotted around the ground instead of in large blocks of the north stand just looked better.
