3 games in Europe and FA Cup is the eadiest way out of both competitions and thats how many we played and were out of both . You really set your sites low when putting Monk on his pedistool ,plus Napoli are a second rate scummy club
Napoli might be a scummy club, but they are a quality side. How anyone can question Monk on our performances against Napoli, coupled with Liverpool in between I'll never understand.
Sorry valley , I thought you said they were second rate . Better not let uzi catch you with such a discrepancy
I feel that Monk has it all to do this season because I was not impressed with a number of performances last season. In fact some of them were downright pathetic. However, I am more than happy to concede that we played really well against Napoli in both games and were unlucky not to go further in the Europa. Have to give credit when and where it's due.
They are a second rate club, with second rate racist, neo nazi fans and values etc, but on the pitch they are a top top side. There is no disputing that.
I think we would have gone farther with Laudrup in both cups Ivor , Monk did ok against Napoli with LAUDRUPS healthy team early in his managing career
Now I know you don't have contacts at the Club. Well, none that are worth a ****. Complete and utter horseshite.
Michu, still a Swans player, came on as a sub tonight as Napoli beat Barcelona 1-0 in a pre-season friendly. He didn't have much of a mention though! http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2154694-napoli-vs-barcelona-score-grades-and-post-match-reaction
Why? He thinks nothing of you, our fans or this Club. **** him 20 times over I say. Concentrate on wishing we keep Bony and that he and Gomis rip through teams this season. Michu is history. Yes, Stereo, his recovery is clearly an act of god. One minute his career is threatened and he has to return to Spain for surgery (Spain??) now he's playing Champions League. Gotta laugh. I know I'm not alone in suspecting Miguel has been pulling a fast one snce Laudrup's departure. I'd go so far as to say it's one of the most underhanded things that a player has ever pulled at our Club. So yes, **** him. Even if you don't agree with that because there's only circumstantial evidence of his deception, you do realise he's walked out on the Swans, petulantly turned his back on the Club and its fans and refused to play for us - but you hope he bags 20 goals? For ****'s sake. The only possible reason for that statement is that we might get a better deal if and when the ****er is sold. Sorry for nicking your favourite smiley but
I have to assume that this was directed at me and yes that is the reason so what's the bile about ? he's successful we sell him for more money what's the problem with that , try commenting without the vitriol ,it'll make you a lot calmer and if that doesn't work try the ignore button works for me ( i know you like them that much )
Well I don't care about him, there was definitely something fishy going on with him. On the other side I hope things do go well for him so we can maximise the sale of him to Napoli.
But you just twist everything to suit your view. If we'd beaten Napoli you'd have claimed it was Laudrup's team that won. As we lost, you place the blame on Monk. You can't have it both ways. You should also consider that it was the team that lost and not the manager. Many times the manager has nothing to do with whether a team wins or loses. He can have some influence but he can't control the result.
You mean the whole 3 months since the end of last season is not enough for his injury to heal, whatever next Blimey I was ill 3 months ago, was looking like my old illness was back, got referred to a gastroentologist again, guess what, I'm better now, and haven't seen the gastro yet, shock horror
It was Laudrups team against Napoli , regardless if we won or not , with Monk babysitting the team .This season will be Monks team after having to bring in replacements for the exodus . We will see how it goes .Alot of people declared Monk kept us from relegation , when we could have done better imo , so I can give my opinion also . We would have done better in all competitions if Huw left well enough alone imo
"A lot of people declared Monk kept us from relegation". As Christine Keeler once put it,"Well, they would, wouldn't they". When you have a vested interest in damaging/destroying a person's reputation, facts tend to get in the way,and need circumventing, somehow, any how. Well, the facts were that the team accrued 42 points in the season. Laudrup oversaw 24,with Monks' tenure producing 18. Nuff said on that score, roof.
