Goalkeeper exits to clinch deal with Blackpool. please log in to view this image Elliott Parish has left Ashton Gate on a free transfer to join Blackpool. The goalkeeper had previously spent a week on trial with the Seasiders but has since penned a one-year deal with an option of a further 12 months. Former Aston Villa and Cardiff City stopper Parish, 24, made 26 appearances last season for the Robins before being made available for transfer in the summer. Championship club Blackpool signed Joe Lewis on a season-long loan from Cardiff City earlier this week and Parish’s arrival bolsters their ranks further. The club would like to wish Elliott all the best for the future @EllParish · 2m Having signed for Blackpool fc, I would like to wish Bristol City all the best this season, with the quality of squad there I would not be surprised to see them win league 1. Big thanks to players staff and supporters for my time there. Also to David Coles. Top man and top coach Best of luck to him at blackpool
Have to admit when I read Blackpool had signed Joe Lewis I thought this deal was dead in the water! It's a great move for him IMO. Hope he does well at Blackpool, steady little keeper and would probably benefit from a confident defence in front of him... Which he may not get at Blackpool...
Did get a run out for us which he probably wasn't expecting. Something wasn't right in the end. Don't know if he threw the toys out or just wasn't rated by SC. Good luck to him though. Will be interesting to see what our own movements for a replacement will be.
I can be smug because I said that Blackpool would need two keepers and was shot down by some. Now we have the leeway on wages to replace him.
I hope so, but with Lewis gone, Marshall needs cover. He did have an injury and was subject to transfer speculation which I guess could still come back. Cant quite see Moore coming but with Parish going like that, SC must have a pretty good idea of what is going to happen.
