I can't see us going to 500k for 1 player - to budget completly for that you have to add in 250k a year for the salary so based on a 3 year contract he would cost us 1.25m at that price. we are just not going to blow that much of the budget on an inexperienced LB however good he's looked in L 1.
Especialy if he only has one year left on his contract.

OK, can I clarify my suggested £500k fee. Along the lines of the "add-on rich" fee structures agreed for Graham and Deeney.

Danny Graham's fee for example was £200k cash down, rising to £550k. The rising to element with Graham was £200k + £30k after 15/30/45/60/75 games + £200k for promotion in 3 yrs, this is how we ended up paying £350k for Graham. All of the appearance monies were paid as he made 88 starts + a few subs. If Danny Graham had been just 12 days older he would have originally joined us on a free!!!!

I would therefore suggest a down payment of £250k, £100k or so for appearances and a "Sensational Soaraway" £150k for promotion to the "promised land".

I agree that Andrew Taylor would appear the cheaper option to start with as he's out of contract on a free, but his wages could cause an iternal bidding war which could upset the dressing room.

I don't know much, but I know we need a left back!

As Elixir has said, I doubt if we offered £500K it would be a full cash deal. Also, regarding his salary, we now have money spared up from DG & WB's departures to take in account.

Offer 325 k with 15% sell on plus another 325k if we get to the prem ( Which lets be realistic here wont happen) but you could clench a deal with bigger numbers on a part of the deal that wont happen <laugh>

    From the rumours site:

Rhoys Wiggins is trying to push through his inevitable transfer to Watford from Bournemouth. He is pushing the club to accept Watfords latest offer of £375,000 + Add Ons before he needs to put in another transfer request. Expect to see a move within 7 days.

I thought he had already put in transfer request?

This guy has 1 year on his contract...no way should we be paying £500k for him.

I'd say 400-450k tops. Although he seems better than what we currently have, I don't really like his attitude from that post as he sounds like he'll jump ship if a bigger championship club came next season

He want's to play in a higher league, what's wrong with that? I seem to remember someone called Danny Graham doing a similar thing, only he spent 2 years with us before flying the nest!

I must add though, I'm not a big fan of players putting in transfer requests so soon after signing a contract but I won't judge as we don't know what goes on behind the scenes. Also players going to bigger clubs as soon as the money is waved in front of their faces is just part and parcel of the game these days.

and he was very honest and open about it. If players tell us where they want to be, and go about it in the right way...all respect to them :)

I'm very right-footed but I'll be the new Doyley (probably not far off skill-wise <laugh>). Fitness 'might' be an issue, and the Vic is a bit far away...

    Do they provide helicopters?
