Would be useful to have Rojo as an extra option for LB but he's certainly not a player who would fit the bill of a fullback for Koeman. Question is, how long is the guy from today going to be kept on ice?
Signing two would be great because it'd allow us to throw out different wrinkles. I'm not restarting the "Koeman plays 5-3-2" thing by any means, but it could be a nice option to have in some circumstances. And if we're not going to score buckets of goals -- and the learning curve for some of our new attacking types could be fairly steep -- depth and quality at the back will be paramount.
So we have a CB waiting in the wings if we don't get Rojo, I want both though Any idea of who it may be, is it VVD?
I don't think that we can really eschew improving simply to keep a starting role wide open for Fonte, especially as he'd assuredly see plenty of time even if he got bumped down the pecking order a little.
That is very strange. Medicals are normally done after everything else is agreed is it not? Would assume that would include transfer fee wages etc etc/
Yeah, I understand all that I'd be happy with two new centre backs, it'd just be a little harsh is all
Last season we needed 3 CB's in the league and that was without taking the cups seriously. Three top class CB's is essential but with Yoshie as 4th choice we could really go for the cups too
If one was a younger player like van Dijk, particularly signing so close to the start of the season, I'm not sure that he'd start every game straightaway in any instance.
