Christ, PL. I'll give you a pass on Taylor but the vast majority of the rest of that, my word.

This is ever so exciting. Radiohead are my fanboy band (and I include Godrich in Radiohead, because it's right).

I'm with PL on that one, actually. It's actually pretty funny.

If I'd had to guess the 25, I definitely would have put that one in there.

Hmm......are you in London? I could tell you the bar to go to in which to stalk them whist recording.

Not often but I'd embrace the chance to sniff Thom's barstool. Or something less weird, whatever.

Well, my top 25 ever according to Last.FM (or at least since I got my account in about 2006) is slightly different, if that's any better?

Air Supply – All Out of Love
Owl City – The Saltwater Room
    Coldplay – Strawberry Swing
    Taylor Swift – Love Story
    Porcupine Tree – Lazarus
    The Kinks – Waterloo Sunset
Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark – Joan of Arc
The Lightning Seeds – Song for no one
    The Killers – Exitlude
    Information Society – Run Away
    Wyclef Jean – Million Voices
    Owl City – Fireflies
Kirsty MacColl – A New England
    Amy Macdonald – Spark
The Killers – Romeo and Juliet
    Elton John – Sacrifice
    David Gray – Be Mine
    blink-182 – I Miss You
Peter Bjorn and John – Young Folks
    The Connells – '74-'75
    Green Day – Whatsername
    Feeder – Feeling a Moment
Hurts – All I Want for Christmas Is New Year's Day
    Len – Steal My Sunshine
The Go! Team – Hold Yr Terror Close

(and tied but just outside the top 25)

Amy Macdonald – Mr Rock & Roll
    Owl City – Air Traffic

Though my iTunes list is more representative of what I currently listen to, rather than have listened to in the past.

I know you're being sarcastic, but I shall choose to ignore that. Yes she is!

Yeah, I missed out the Bee Gees, although I think those specific songs from the 80/90s!

As for Torn, I only really started listening to that after they covered it in Glee.

The last.fm one starts really, really badly, then gets a bit better at Porcupine Tree and continues to be acceptable until Owl City comes in again, then it's quite a lot of crap, with Blink 182 and Feeder being okay and I'll give you Len because that's a fun song in a way. Wyclef is cool too, I guess.

There are some pretty tragic ones on my last.fm, but I blame that on 15-16 year old me being an idiot.

That's from American Idiot, from 2004. Haven't heard much of their stuff since, but that was a good album. And listening to it in order, the complete contrast between the previous song (Home Coming) and Whatsername makes it so interesting. Plus, lyrically I think it's something we can all relate to.

Fineeeee. But as I mostly listen to albums and not individual songs there's far less variation than PL. I could do it by last 12 months which is less embarrassing, but where's the fun in that. Also it's nowhere near as bad as PL's so there's not much shame involved anyway.

    1. Radiohead – Jigsaw Falling into Place
    2. The Decemberists – Record Year
    3. The Decemberists – Of Angels and Angles
    4. Anberlin – Godspeed
    5. The National – All the Wine
    5. Enter Shikari – Juggernauts
    7. Radiohead – 15 Step
    8. The Decemberists – July, July!
    8. Anberlin – The Unwinding Cable Car
    10. The Decemberists – The Rake's Song
    11. Anberlin – (Début)
    12. The National – Fake Empire
    13. Laura Marling – Ghosts
    14. Anberlin – A Day Late
    14. Alberta Cross – Old Man Chicago
    16. Radiohead – No Surprises
    16. Anberlin – A Whisper & a Clamor
    18. The Smiths – This Charming Man
    18. The Decemberists – O Valencia!
    20. The Decemberists – We Both Go Down Together
    20. Anberlin – Adelaide
    22. Anberlin – Alexithymia
    22. The Decemberists – The Hazards of Love 4 (The Drowned)
    24. Belle and Sebastian – I'm a Cuckoo
    25. The National - Mistaken For Strangers

Enter Shikari and Anberlin are not things I'm proud of.

Just a last word on the 70s music debate, here is a link to various publications "all time best albums" lists....
You will note that the 70s has the highest % on every list varying from about 30% to 45%.

Hehe, Enter Shikari. To be fair, when I was a teenager I was listening to them too, as was literally everyone else I knew, because they come from St Albans. Them and Gallows used to play down The Pioneer, which was where all the cool kids would hang out. Juggernauts is from their later stuff though, so that's not as cool.

I've only heard the Decemberists once, when at a classmates' flat, doing some group work. They seemed alright actually.

It's terrible, but it came out at the height of my fandom as the first song they released from their second album so I listened to it loads, probably in an effort to convince myself to like it.
