I know it's only preseason but nice to see the guy bag a couple tonight against Rotherham. Should take a little of the pressure from the Transfer fee off. IMO opinion I still think he needs time to regain full fitness as he spent the second half of last season fighting off an injury but he'll bag us a few goals this year and offers us another option up front.

I think all our strikers have impressed so far no one more so than Nugent! He's really playing for an extra year on the contract. It's a nice situation to be in and I for one cannot wait for the season to start. Shame I'm on holiday for the opening game whoops!

Nugent's probably played himself into a starting place next weekend, especially as Vardy seems to be struggling a bit with injury at the moment. Ulloa and Nugent is a good combination, and Nugent will be hyped up with the prospect of scoring against his boyhood club (I think I'm right in saying he was an Everton fan!). I'm the same- I'm going to be halfway round the world on holiday for the first few weeks! Hopefully we'll have a few points on the board by the time I get back.

I reckon Nugent will score against Everton. He is one of them players that you know what teams he will score against and ones he wont. Her certainly has his favourites

Ulloa took his first very, very well.

The second was what we bought him for. Lovely cross and diving header.

Spot on ... he gives us that frontal physical edge which we were lacking, combined with great aerial presence ... as I've said a few times now ... prem defenders are not going to enjoy playing against him - he will ruffle some pampered feathers ... bring it on!

Make no mistake, this boy can play and sure knows where the net is. Has terrific aerial ability which is an area we have fallen short in recent years. He is still off the pace in terms of fitness and blending into the squad, but expect to see the real Leo after 5 games in to the season.
With Vardy not being risked (rightly so) in either of this weeks friendly games, id expect Nuge and Ulloa to start v Everton. Not long to wait now boys.

2 goals against Rotherham! Well worth the £7m! <ok>

Agree though that its good to see his name on the scoresheet before the season starts.

THIS! can't remember that last time we scored from a headed cross, last one i can think of was Kaspers goal ... it was well over the line :bandit:

And you're basing this on???? If you have the ability to see into the future I'm sure we'd all have a lot of questions to ask you

... based on???... your hope (and possibly fear <laugh>) ... think you will be eating your words on this one ... only time will tell ... this is the first 'proper' centre-forward we have had since Les Ferdinand ... excellent first touch and deceptive pace for a big man ... very strong in the air and can finish ... you'll be telling us next that Charlie Austin is a Prem striker <laugh> based on ... again nothing more than hope ...

Shhhh Fosse don't tell them that Charlie Austin won't be the top goal scorer in the whole world this season as they'll not believe you coz DQPR players are automatically better than anyone else! Didn't you know this?
