Elixir--the final is on August 11th. I think the start of the regular season will be put back a week to avoid the "strain on public transport". Now I have the unenviable task of deciding who , in my large family, will be able to go. I can easily see that I will not be going myself, (even though I paid for the tickets.) Perhaps I will have to have a ballot. Or ask for their credit card details, take the money, but not tell them who is going till the last minute.
Bit of Water Polo and an athletics morning. Didn't go for anything grand TBH. Feel sorry for those who missed out but they get another chance. Hopefully all the top tickets won't just go to the VIPs/Sponsors.
What's all this 'canooing'? I thought for a minute I'd read 'canoodling'...now that would make an interesting Olympic sport.
Nice thought H, but I think any tickets you can't use have to be returned to them for re-allocation. Which venue were they for - Lea Valley or the one in Bucks? My son specifically wanted to see the slalom. As mentioned above, have applied for tickets at OT - I went for price band B as I thought that £40 for 2 international games (I've applied for one of the earlier rounds) was better value than 1 PL or CL game at the same ground.
Oh well...they're for Bucks, i think for 6 August. It's the sprint i think. Sounds sensible barry! i was talking to a friend last night who got almost all the tickets she applied for, including athletics, rowing, diving, swimming..hmm, and a couple of others. She was gutted not to get gymnastics...i nearly slapped her! lol
I expect the 2012 games to run in a similar pattern to the ticket sales. A uninspiring shambles. Well done to the people getting excited about though, I just couldn't be less interested. If they just tried to get the common people involved a bit more, it could have been a different story.
I must admit ,I have found the whole episode shambolic and uninspiring! I just hope it a)doesnt cost the country too much and b) doesnt clog up the sports channels on the telly! Not really bothered about watching any of it! would far rather watch the Horns storming up the league
I will watch the sailing down at weymouth- no need to aply for tickets have a boat mooring with prime view
Roo, that's lucky. I saw a report on the Southern news (the beeb and itv think we're as interested in that as the C.I. news) and there seems to be a fuss about the use of a public park in Weymouth where you can normally see the sailing venue from but the organising committee have asked the local council to allow them to sell tickets so people are unable to watch from the park for free and it's really annoyed the residents.
Yay! And i've had the email to say i'm off to Bucks for the Canooing... There are very few tickets left apparently. So chances of seeing the stadium before we play West Ham away in 2013 when they're still in the Championship are pretty slim
