You're on crystal meth if you think you've got a cat in hell's chance of Falcao. He's on £170k per week AFTER TAX at Monaco, so you'd have to pay him £340K per week plus to match that. No chance.
Are footballers PAYE then? I doubt that they are. I'd be surprised if they pay more than 25% tax, if that. So take the £200k that Suarez would have been on this year and it wouldn't actually be far away.
falcao is seriosuly injured and recovering. an hack said its between city and us and we are favorites due to "a very good source" in short theres no way.
I don't know much about UK income tax, but why wouldn't it be the standard 45% for people earning over 150k? http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/rates/it.htm#2a
He scored against Arsenal a couple of days ago... http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/aug/03/arsenal-monaco-friendly-match-report
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...oney-dodge-millions-tax-cashing-loophole.html I know it's the mail but I'd be shocked if they're not using top accountants to avoid paying tax. I doubt that they are PAYE like you and I.
when that pic was taken it was europa right so it wasn't the absolute best but.... johnson was already past it. reina was already unhappy carragher was already just about past it. fact it lads we are f'n spoilt rotten looking at lashing cash on lovern and the like
Oh, no doubt about it, they'll use top accountants to avoid paying as much tax as they should. These will probably be Liverpool employed accountants though, otherwise its too late as the PAYE would get deducted before their individual accountants got to it.
Agreed. If someone had offered me exactly what we have today 5 years (roughly) ago, I'd have torn both arms off at the shoulder!! So if we don't get Falcao, we shouldn't be too disappointed
As I understand the article, the wages themselves would be taxed at normal rates and it's the image rights that would be subject to the lower corporation tax rate. Money that they then receive from the company will then presumably be further taxed under capital gains. But yes, I'm sure that several do have accountants trying to (legally) reduce the tax bill a bit.
I don't know, five years ago no one had heard of Lallana, Markovic or Lovren. We had scouted a 14yr old Sterling though
