Should he not be training and playing with the first team?

It would surely put him in the shop window? Doesn't really seem that fair on him to be frozen out. It's not like he's done anything wrong. Cattermole was frozen out last pre season. Considering our lack of numbers for Portugal??? Or is it designed to make him want to move?

Who knows what's happening behind the scenes or the reasoning.

You don't put scrap metal in a shop window mate. We just need to **** him off now. We'll go no fee for him due to his stupidly high wages. Nice one Marty.

He has scored a few pre season (poor opposition I know) I wiuld have thought our style under poyet would suit him more than mon's horrific tactics. He played his best football at Swansea and I would say our play emulates more that style now?

I know he lacks pace but he can link play well. I wouldn't expect him to startbut a potential option from the bench.surely he should be looked on as an asset rather than a waste of wages?

It depends what he's on really. If he is on a high wage I would rather get him off the wage bill as I dont see a way back for him with most of the fans

He was half decent in a footballing Swansea side. I like most ewant him gone but not having him train with the first team seems incredibly harsh if true.

Shocking buy and we knew it before it happened.

It was telling that the Swansea fans were happy for him to go despite him having scored goals for him, they knew he was pap too.

I'd offer him a free to get rid, no doubt he got a daft contract.

Nads. O/T question. Are Legia Warsaw that good do you know. Celtic 0-2 down. Thinking about van Dijk being crap like.

He's definitely not crap mate. He's playing in a team that's a mess at the moment, for whatever reason. Forster won't even be looking good but he's a great keeper.

I really rate the lad and would love him at our club.

I watched last week and they looked decent going forward, but in relative terms Polish sides are very poor.

Celtic ****ed it last week going down to 10 and losing shape and discipline, and tonight they have been able to just pick Celtic off.

I'm not in the van Dijk camp based on these 2 games, but I posted mt Celtic fans mates opinion of him the other day he reckons he's top drawer.

    Cheers lads, thanks for that.

It`s just that conceding 6 (up to now) in two set the alarm bells off.

Just wondering you know. As you do. :emoticon-0148-yes:

He's a good Championship level player. Someone will take him off our hands before the end of August.

I don't think we'll be able to shift him. I think making him train with the younguns is a way to persuade him to leave. But nobody is going to pay his wages and why would he take a pay cut? Doubt he'll care about not getting game time on that wage. A mag who joined Sunderland for the money, he's already shown he has no respect for his own career by joining us in the first place.
