Alledgedly Pool are selling him at £ 11 mill. He would be a brilliant signing for Swansea, showing real committment. But I suppose Huw will choke in his wages... And Agger (with all due respect) will probably go home to BIF (where he originally was discovered by Laudrup!!!), if he was to step Down from Champions League Level...
You don't have to be in Denmark to agree with Mikra - and sometimes it helps to see things clearly when you get a remote view of things. When a couple of players moaned about Laudrup last season this forum went close to melt down, yet this season (Monk, Huw, Laudrup, Ash whoever is responsible it makes no difference) we are in a pretty shocking state. If Chico goes, and given some of the crap he's taken from Swansea 'fans' this season I really wouldn't blame him, an already dodgy back line will be left horribly exposed.
Our defensive line is now: Rangel (never a speed merchant, aging and slower), Williams (also never a speed merchant, aging, likely to be slower, and not blessed with height for today's CB), A.N.Other, Taylor (back to where he was - to be determined). A.N.Other = Amat and Bartley. I have high expectations for both. But neither are good enough to displace Chico as #1 choice at this point. Chico is or was our #1 defender. Either Chico is moving because he can't abide staying here (I don't see Qatar as a step up), or its the money (which I doubt, but could be - it would have to be pretty good to forego playing in the Prem surely), or we have a replacement as good as or better coming in. IMO, the replacement at this point is not Amat or Bartley - not for Chico

He's still got a good few years in him, I'd be very surprised if a CL club didn't pick him up somewhere.
Tbh I think that Bartley is ready to make the step up. That said, I would hope that we have a centre back lined up to replace Chico and come straight into the first team.
With Amat injured (hamstring apparently) we will only have 2 fit central defenders. Most certainly needs sorting out urgently.
Whilst speed is always an asset the ability to read a game is more important for a central defender. Bobby Moore and Kaiser Franz weren't the quickest but they couldn't half read the game and Ash is pretty good at this as well.
He will be, I stil think he s positionally a little naive and tends to lose his man a little to often for me. I have no doubt he will end up being a top PL defender. But, we need to bring a bit of experience in, I dont want to be going into a season with a choice of a 22yr old and a 23 yr old as part of the mainstay of our back four with the other as cover. That is far to light for me..
I pointed out your attitude towards the club turned bitter since the day Laudrup was sacked, so far it hasn't changed back. You do come across as someone who despises the Swans hierarchy now despite the fact they have delivered so much good fortune to this club and continue to do so. I can understand that you only heard of the club after the Great Dane joined us and thus your loyalty doesn't rest with Swansea City, I am more suprised by some here who claim to be from the area though.
