Nope. Simply because they wont be able to offer any hope of ever playing in the first team. All these money clubs claim this. None ever follow through.
Long term- 20 years from now the only guarentees are City and Chelsea will still be somewhere near the top. Liverpool, Arsenal, Man Utd... we may all have a place- but it is no guarantee. City and Chelsea have the money to maintain being up there for a very long time. 2 or 3 bad years for any other club and who knows what happens after that.
There is no guarantee that any team will be anywhere near their current position in twenty years. Who expected Leeds to self destruct so much? And that happened in a short time span, around three or four years? I'd actually say Man City or Chelsea are more likely to fall away then Man Utd, Arsenal or Liverpool tbh. The former are were they are because of their rich owners, the latter are at the top and have been for years because of the way they were built and structured, they each have a substantial fan base to support them too. Having said that, so did Leeds
The difference with City is that they have a state of the art stadium that they are expanding and they are putting a huge new training facility in place so even if the owners do decide to move on the club will be a fantastic prospect for any future owners.
Perhaps. Chelsea have of course proven that to be a littlw bit off tge mark. 1 title in 8. Also rans.
True, but when looking at long term sustainability I'd lean towards the clusb that have been there and done it already for the last fifty to sixty years rather than the one thats appeared in the last five.
You will find UTD will be owned by an Oil rat, when the Glazers sell up, so they will still be No1, £££££ and Chav FC will fall, as they dont have the right youth set up, hovering up kids does not mean quality.
The money clubs will fade away. It is after all, a billionaires fad. They all used to buy property. They now buy football clubs, soon they will buy something else.
I agree with this. The clubs that setup up right (three in red) and operate in the right way will be best placed to cope when the inevitable financial bust eventually hits the PL. It has to end somewhere.
Exactly. Im not nsaying they will walk away but the bubble will burst. The PL may even collapse. It will be the United's Liverpools and Arsenals that lead the way after that, set up new leagues, generate interest and support for it. We all know what happens to anything you just chuck money at. Doesnt matter what it is. Same end result.
I agree as a whole but just get the feeling that with City the owners are in it for the long haul and seem to want to build a super club, I don't think they'll fall away.
Pretty sure theirowners are United fans. Probably drop city if the glazers put us up for sale. who wouldnt tbh? Like choosing between a Ferrari and a Lada with go faster stripers.
They're from the middle east so I doubt they have a strong bond with any team, they have their play thing and may one day get bored but imo they'll leave the toy in good order for the next child to pick up.
If City sell out nearly every game, how come last year the had to advertise on radio that tickets were available for every game? United never have to stoop that low, and in all fairness, neither do Liverpool
