Nah, time was right to sell up. And the owners/Rodgers stated aims have always been to build a balanced team that doesn't rely on the star names/Galcticos/chuck as much oil money at it as you can a la Etihad model. It's a relief that he's gone as well 1) Because we aren't all fretting about when he will go anymore 2) Because it frees up the rest of the squad to play, step up to the plate and become important 3) Because we don't have a player missing a quarter of the season every season because he can't control himself.
We've already had 3 5 2 a long way back. To get that either everyone here has got to commit to stepping up the post count or the transfer window will have to last for another 6 months.
Difficult to say. We've probably paid £5m more for a couple of them at least because we have CL football!!
Yes, but was merely suggesting that with him here, I reckon our pulling power increases measurably. Shame we couldn't have managed his exit a little differently....get the big name in, then sell him for example.....moot point I guess.
always wondered that myself, but then we could have brought similar to spurs in over hyped and over valued ie Soldado etc, so lucky i guess. we seem to be doing it the way of if the right player is available and reasonably priced we will go for them, not just spend it like spurs did. can get frustrating from our point of view, but then we could be in a good bargaining come jan window, depending on league and cl status, as would have funds carried over.
You've not found that cheat yet? But Barca are hardly short of quality, alright a couple of the old guard are getting on a bit, but there's still an excellent squad there.
