Good Morning Everyone, Cellino is not a happy bunny!!! He was the very last person to leave Elland Road on Saturday. He had to go round and turn all the lights off. ‘’There were lights left on everywhere,’’ Cellino said. ‘’I had to go round and turn them all off, one by one. Unbelievable.’’ He was also upset with the state of the ground. It was messy . Also, he was not too enamored with the performance on Saturday, only winning 2-0. The Italian was quoted as saying the players were ‘’a long way from where they need to be’’. There was better feedback on Hockaday, whose performance was ‘’OK, but needs some babysitting’’ Frederik Sorensen and Nicky Ajose are the latest players to join the Whites, with more expected to follow in the next couple of days. It has been agreed with Juve, that should Sorensen impress, we have agreed to buy him between 3.5m - 4m. Although undisclosed, it is believed Ajose cost us £150,000. I'm sure he'll be warming the subs bench, or used when we need to rotate our squad. What are we thinking about a final league position, come May?
Morning Elland and all. I guess I can write whatever I want this morning as judging by recent events, it'll all get magically deleted or altered eh?. as for Cellino, every day, some goings on at Leeds make me smile and we haven't started the season yet. Long time since I've found Leeds entertaining. Final league position? I think playoffs will be realistic. Doesn't take an incredible team to make them and Cellino will leave no stone unturned to get there. The secret may even be in January transfer window to prevent our annual Xmas slump
Good morning Matt and co from a very dull Cote de Bardsey where we have had rain during the night I think that we now can see the resemblance of a good back 4 we still need a partner who can score goals for us plus a wide boy lets hope we get them soon but we will not let in many goals I believe. I see McCormack who must be staying in London now has fallen out with his manager already being accused of being unfit must have been with Kenny training then! Seems odd that he signs for 11m and then they find him unfit but that's football On the position we will finish it will depend on how quickly the team gels bringing in 8 new players is a big ask some will fail but I am fairly confident we have steadied the ship so I will say 8th
Just read a piece in the Mail, which is their usual we hate Leeds stuff, but there are a few spicy bits inside, like this bit below: "Under the terms of the contract, Cellino agreed to buy the club for £11m and also service debts of £24m, much owed to GFH or associates of the Middle Eastern bank. But after studying the accounts, Sportsmail can reveal, Cellino threatened to take legal action against GFH before convincing them to restructure the deal. In our conversation, he declined to go into exact figures, but did say: ‘The issue was very strange. The numbers, they were not true. GFH were not able to understand what they were talking about. They were not even able to run a fruit shop" No wonder Haigh is still rotting in an arab prison, besides being useless he's also a robber. The quote from Cellino about Hock needing babysitting is because Cellino says he is unknown and managed in League 5 and now speaks to prem and championship managers, so is like a kid in a sweet shop. League 5 yes that what we all thought too.
I do not think that there is an 'outstanding' team in The Championship this year... I think that Birmingham, Blackpool, Huddersfield, Rotherham, Brentford and Nottingham Forest will be amongst the also rans Cannot see Fulham or Cardiff challenging for the top six !!!, also cannot see Bournemouth, Charlton, Wolves, Sheffield Wednesday being anything else than mid table, so any six from twelve.....
Morning all. Long time since we've had such a lively, & Ross's sale aside, positive feel to pre-season. Saturday could be a rude awakening for all if/when we find out just how shy of a decent team we really are. Alternatively, the Wall will be so confused seeing the Mighty Whites keeping that bit of leather on the ground rather than strain their necks watching it sale over their heads for 90 mins that we wallup them 1-0. On Cellino, we'll get used to his quips and quirks. But he's already the best and most productive chairman we've had in an age. So let's just sit back and enjoy the ride. There will be some bumps along the way. But I think it's going to be a lot better than previous rides we've been on in the last few years. In Cellino & the Hock I trust. MOT
Morning all. The lights were left on at elland rd, because MC sacked the guy responsible for turning them off. I'm sure the message of collective responsibility will get home soon. Is sorensen official yet?
Good morning ETO why do you think Forest will be also rans I know they have just sold 2 players to Newcastle but they have been loaned back for next season .I think they will finish in the top6
I agree with Boggers because the deals our president is doing will mean we are buying players for around £2m average, which we haven't done since Ridsdale. The loan deals are for example £500k for the season followed by around £1.5m if we decide to buy. This way of try now and pay later is great and allows us to offload if the player doesn't work out. The big lad up top 'Duke' was the example I just quoted, but Zan and the other loanees are based upon the same principle. The players he's bought will guarantee a return if he sells them, because he negotiated good deals, and you'll notice they are on minimum 3-year deals so that he won't lose out. By the time we get really going this season, I imagine we will have a multi-million pound squad and for me that is something not seen for over a dozen years. No big time Charlies and no big icing on the cake players as yet, but convinced it won't be to long. Can anyone imagine that Cellino will do what Bates did our first season back in the Championship? We were top 6 all season and needed one or 2 players in January to ensure promotion .... Bates sold and refused Grayson cash and we collapsed and burned finishing 7th. NO WAY
Morning, need to get this Sorensen deal finished today so he can have a couple of days training with the squad ready for Saturday. A couple of Italian football experts had this to say about out new star defender yesterday. "Potentially it's a very good signing Sorensen for Leeds, could be one of best defenders for First Division" Get the lad signed up today
Morning one and all. What an interesting guy MC is. He speaks as he sees it and that could create some tension throughout the club and probably the league !! He looks like he means business though and that could be an improvement on past owners. As for position ?? It will be a very close divisions this year I feel with at least 10 clubs all with the potential to escape the Championship. A bit of trouble brewing at Forest perhaps. Cardiff seem to be buying strikers evry other day. Leeds? For the past few seasons I have picked them to just make the playoff spots but with all the coming and goings I am still confused about this season so I will be picking my TOP SIX POINTS predictions later today. Past efforts have been useless so extra effort this year from moi.
As ever, I start the season hoping we'll win the league, remain undefeated, & get to a cup final resulting in us being in Europe in 2015/16. Then reality kicks in and I fear for relegation. This season, however, I think it will take time for all the incomers to gel with the established players. I also think it will take time for the Hock to establish his best XI & who should be on the bench pushng. With all this in mind, I think top 6 is a realistic target IF the squad gels quickly, particularly the CB pairing. Don't think we'll go up this season, but top 6, playing good footy, and giving the top 6 a good game will represent progress.
Before we talk about the Hock being fired, let's at least see how he does in the first dozen games or so. At least he's got us playing proper footy. So that in itself is progress. He isn't a name we were familiar with prior to his arrival, but then again, neither was Poccetino before his arrival at Southampton!!
Well thanks Mike....you have had more success than me over the past 6 or 7 years.. I think the bookies might have a very good idea of the top 6... Its the points they could get that's the problem Anyone who still fancies an entry this year the link for TOP SIX game: http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/270315-Top-Six-Points-Challenge Closing date is FRIDAY evening before KO Boggers, I hope you are right and a top 6 place is possible, but there are too many questions about the Leeds set up to put money on it.
