QPR continue to buck recent trend with Mutch capture Tuesday, 5th Aug 2014 23:55 by Clive Whittingham QPR have stolen a second bright, young, English prospect from relegated Cardiff City today - Jordon Mutch signing a four year contract at Loftus Road for a fee of £5m. Facts Jordon Mutch, still only 22 years of age, first crossed the radar of most QPR fans just before Christmas 2010. Back then he was a young player making his way Birmingham City after theyâd picked him up from the youth system at Derby County. He learnt his trade through a spate of loan spells: five games at Hereford in League Two a year before, and then 17 appearances for Doncaster (mostly as a sub) in the second half of 2009/10 in the Championship preceded a half-season loan deal at Watford. Heâd already scored four goals from midfield for Malky Mackayâs Hornets before an outstanding performance, goal and assist in a 3-1 win at Loftus Road in a Friday night fixture televised live on the BBC. Great piece. I'm starting to get excited about this season... Our signings so far have been top notch (and Fer would only continue that trend).
"Plus, as LBlock on the message board points out, it sets up the dream line of: “Dunne to Mutch, Mutch to Yun”. What’s not to like?" That is a case of copyright theft me thinks.
This. If we can get him we should be making the deal. 24. Right sort. Would bolster our midfield importantly for this formation. Come on a Harry... they've signed Neill, so let's get it going!
We really do seem to be doing it correctly: - positive team attitude rolling over from last season - clear tactical game plan for the new season - a clear out of lots of dead wood - excellent quality and added value signings - signings that are an evolution of the team, rather than a revolution All of the above are very sensible and extremely good, and are very unlike QPR....is there a catch somewhere? What can possibly go wrong! Hopefuly the QPR rollercoaster is truely on the up. I admit that I am really looking forward to this new season!
Excellent piece, especially about our chances and our strategy of survival. I particularly liked this: "you’ve a three in 14 chance of doing so (staying up) whoever you sign". Champions League can wait a few seasons!
