Rate The Player #3: Clint Hill

  1. Premiership Class. One of our key players last season and next

  2. Potential. Excelled last season in the CCC, but could find the step up a challenge.

  3. Squad. Did enough in the CCC to secure a berth in the squad, but will only warm the bench.

  4. Did OK against Leeds and Donny;the prospect of Man City and Arsenal is too scary to contemplate.

  5. Didn't contribute enough last season - certainly shouldn't be on the bus this year.

Next to go under the Not606 Microscope, one of the surprises of last season, defender Clint Hill.

    1. Think he is a leader at the back although he has no Premiership experience think this player will be key and deserves it to from last seasons consistent performances.

3 - Had a good season but his lack of pace would be brutally exposed as full back, I think he would be useful cover as squad centre back.

May make it, but probably in the centre. Any fast winger will get past him occasionally as left back. His positional sense and reading of the game will help him out immeasurably though.

    3. Sooperhoop hit the nail on the head regarding his lack of pace. Deserves a shot at it though until he starts to get turned inside out

    2. Got the height, vision, awareness and authority for first choice centre back with Gorkssie imo - unless we have to humour a geriatric Italian of course!

    2. Clint posesses the spirit we are going to need in abundance. Great tackler and reader of the game. Heart on sleeve stuff.

    3. Same as Orr but can also be utilised at CB. Would defo have him on the bench even if we signed Walker + Naughton due to his versitility across the backline and his leadership qualities.

Certainly will be good enough to make the squad but to play every game against top class wingers Im not so sure.

    2. I'd play him at centre back. His lack of pace would be too brutally exposed at full back.
