Another day, another friendly... a third pre-season fixture in just four days sees the Magpies heading over the M62 this evening to face Championship opposition.

Kick-off at the John Smith's Stadium is at 7.45pm and pay turnstiles will be available. Adult admission is £15 and it's £10 for OAPs and U18s.

NUFC: tbc. After training with his new colleagues out in Germany but not playing, Daryl Janmaat may make his bow. Siem De Jong isn't expected to play but loan lad Facundo Ferreyra should get some further pitch time.

After featuring against Schalke on Sunday, Haris Vuckic,
Adam Armstrong, Lubo Satka, Adam Campbell and Remi Streete were all included in a reserve XI for a friendly against Barnsley on Monday afternoon.

HTFC: The Terriers began pre-season with a training camp out in Portugal and three victories in as many games. They subsequently returned to lose at both Scunthorpe and Oldham, but beat Sheffield United.

Our only previous first team visit here was in July 2009, when Huddersfield were in League One. A Kevin Nolan effort gave United a 1-0 win in a game with Lee Clark's side that had some stormy moments - notably a clash between Habib Beye and a home player that was broken up by both sets of coaching staff and the police

When you consider we are only 3 first team players short you can see why we need a cb a striker and Grenier

Our CB options reek like a ten day dead dog in a summer heatwave. The extra striker becomes even more important if Pardew is going to implement an old fashioned 4-4-2. Grenier also as Siem is already showing difficulties staying fit.
