In a matter of five years we have fallen from being a mid-table, established Premier League side, to a mid-table, established League One side. I need not remind us all of every misjudged, poor decision which has been made over these years, the countless dissappointing players and managers who have been and gone, as it is something we have to put up with every time we meet someone new and mention being a Charlton fan.

So I ask you, in all seriousness where do you see us being in five years time?

Established championship side. Will take a lot of effort to get back to where we were. I'm not saying the premiership in 5 years is beyond us, but I'd be happy to be sitting at the right end of the championship by then.

To be honest it would take a miracle for us to reach the Premier League in that time - the best we can expect is to be top half regulars in the Championship. If you look at our historical record, that's what I would consider our 'level' so to speak.

Voted borderline Prem/Championship side... but it depends hugely on this year... if we go up then given the Norwich/Leeds/Millwall phenomena from last year (i.e. good sides in League One can carry that through, but sides that fluke it in the play-offs will fade into mid-table obscurity and go down the following year) I see no reason we can't keep the momentum going. But if we don't go up this year the investment, such as it is, is surely not going to keep on appearing, and we'll struggle to get out. But I have faith in the signings I'm seeing, so let's be optimistic here... and not remark on how many seasons it is since we improved on the previous season...

I know exactly where I want us to be and like the rest of all Addicks fans it's got to be the Premiership with a nice cup final visit to Wembley within the next 5 years. But in all honesty, we should not be too upset if we were on the fringes of the Championship play-offs on a regular basis and most importantly our club and finances are secure. If our 'saviour', Sir Chris, performs miracles on and off the pitch and puts us in the Premiership, then we can all crow how the legend that was AC has now been superceeded by the new king.We WILL get promotion this year and we WILL stand our own ground in the Championship.

you lot should be championship at least, the prem is big money now and you cant compete with the big clubs ,so bottom half of the prem above the relegation zone and you should be happy.the likes of man city and chelsea have ruined football at the top level.

:emoticon-0128-hi::emoticon-0128-hi::emoticon-0128-hi:Vote as you see fit brb. We won't beat you up. You see when you are the biggest club in South London and Kent you don't worry too much about what the small clubs think.

I voted for borderline Premier League / Championship side

Even if we were still in the Premier League now under Curbs I don't think we'd be in the Top 10 anymore due to the amounts of money being spent by clubs, that gap has only widened since our relegation and we'd probably be doing a Blackburn most seasons. These days to be an established Premier League club you need some serious cash behind you, it's no co-incidence that even teams 7th or 8th in the Premier League in April last season still weren't guaranteed to survive.

For us to be an established Premier League team the ground would have to be upscaled to 40,000 too

Ok - I voted borderline Championship - League One side for your lot, although in 5 years time none of us have got a clue!

Next time set the poll up properly so everyone can see who voted for what, being a mod I can tell AllHell voted for you ceasing to exist.

    Sorry mate I just can't lie <ok>
