According to the New Shopper, we are talking to a French striker; Andy Delort

Age 22; 24 goals in 36 games. Former U20 player.

Could he take the no. 9 shirt?

Ha ha. According to CL, ITV etc he's on the verge of signing/going to Leeds/Brentford/signing thursday. He may yet join us, and may prove to be the new Super Clive. At the moment, he's just mr viral on twitter, creating pages on Cafc forums, and nowhere to be seen. The Mystery of the Valley is unveiled!

If he signs - I imagine he will take the number 9 shirt.

    But he's no Simon Church.

Got a message from a French football fanatic friend of mine saying he's a good striker...he could be the one to lead us to the glory of a top half finish.

I'll wait for the official website before I believe we've signed him but 25 goals last year... not too shabby

Definitely more excited by him than the other strikers bought in.

Looks better than anyone brought in since RD arrived. Looks more suited to English football than Vetokele, Cucudean or Gudmundsson, although they are all talented.

Now sign a big lump up front, on loan if necessary, to give us a Plan B.

Or he wants 1st team football, which we could guarantee to him... and next season after he scores for fun for us he'd have Champions League football with Liege

Pearl and Dean da da da da da. Da da.

After the movie, why not pop along to the Star of Bengal in Woolwich high street? , where delicious Indian food is cooked to your delictation from the exotic east and served in comfortable surroundings by your attentive waiters only to delighted to bring you some of the most tantalising dishes from the asias.

    I miss that.

Mind you when you got there the place smelled of sick, the waiters were always getting your order wrong and at 11pm The Lord Herbert kicked out and 30 pissed up squaddies piled in shouting "oi sinbad, give me a chapati, and thirty pints of lager!

According to L'Equipe, Delort is close to signing a five year deal with us for a fee of 3million euros. Nothing on the official site so either discussions have stalled or L'Equipe have imagined it.

    : Delort

Nothing on our O/S about the player signing for us.

Is this another "Reams Special" like Carl Jenkinson signing for Hull ?
