I disagree with the whole name change business and several other decisions the Allams have made but how you can seriously say they don't care at all and haven't a clue is really beyond me. Do you really think the Allams would have put in the money to save and then put the club in its best ever position by a country mile if they a) didn't care and b) didn't have a clue. They had to make a quick decision on this and have managed to almost fill the ground for a game where I expected a crowd of about 8,000. They deserve a lot of credit on this, but I'm sure you could have done it better.
The vast majority of the Trencin support is already booked into the corporate area. Of course they would be allowed to do that if they so wished.
I have no doubt at all there are several people on here at least who could of done it better. The fact that you were also expecting an 8,000 crowd for our first ever competitive European fixture tells me all I need to know.
What makes you think the club would be allowed to close the away allocation to away supporters and only allow home supporters in the stands? What rule allows that? What happens if 50 Slovaks turn up in a bus on the day of the match and want to pay on the gate? Where do you put them? Meanwhile, in the real world...
I'm not sure why the club are getting so much stick here. First ever European game and it's £10 a pop and unreserved seating. People have been nagging for both for years.
What does a record crowd at the KC amount to really when the stadium has been a sell out on many occasions? It's not like the forties and fifties when you could always squeeze more in. When City got that crowd of 55,000 60 odd years ago was there any sort of limit, or could more have got in if the tickets had been sold, or more people had turned up?
My point is they gave away tickets. I didn't think it was that hard to comprehend. It's a factor in why that gate was large. They should give tickets to schools more often.
To be fair none of us expected a sell-out, we usually have appalling cup attendances. Even with the cheap ticket prices, people were still expecting a smaller crowd.
I was thinking 11,000 to 12,000 tops and Iv been going for years. Tickets sold out 22,000 + Brilliant Stupid me thought I would get a ticket in the North Stand with ease But ended up in the South Stand for this game It doesn't matter though . My dumb fault for not getting a ticket sooner . Not the club's fault
Trencin fans think that they have no chance of a ticket as the match is sold out! Maybe something has been lost in translation!
I was holding off for a bit expecting there to be little demand. I didn't think some of the day trippers would think Trencin worthy of their hard earned cash. When I heard the influx of demand I immediately bought a ticket in the North Stand. From my point I can see what the club thought. Some of our fans have turned their noses up at 'lesser' opposition (remember the trouble we had selling tickets for the Sunderland Quarter final?). But it seems that the low price and the first European game has allowed some interest to develop. So I can't really complain as the club have done their best to get some interest
It all boils down to the loonies who make up the segregation criteria. We should not have an issue with selling tickets for seats that will remain empty. This situation should never be allowed to happen when you have empty seats and people left without a ticket. Very true and i dont have an issue with it being all un-reserved seating. The issue is with having to leave so many seats left empty when they could have been sold. Sadly for the KC, a sell out is never a sell out.
I was there in 1949 for the Man U. match along with a few others from on here. There were plenty shut out of the ground. Many kids were sitting on the grass outside The Well along the touchlines. They could have sold 60,000.
I dont accept that we have to leave seats empty when they could have been sold. That is an issue that the club needs to address and quick. In saying that, the new PL tv cash will treble from 2016 when the new overseas deals kick in. Will we need paying customers anymore ? and The sooner the club can add to the stadium capacity the better and put all away fans upstairs then we can have a proper KC sell out of 25,432 at least.
That's a bit of a contradiction, as a consequence of unreserved seating, we had to leave 2,500 seats empty. Still, 21-22,000 for a cup game is a very decent turn-out.
I have to say i am another of those who thought i would easily get a ticket this week in the west stand as i normally do. Personally i think the way they released tickets worked well i know i went online in a bit of a panic when i knew the south stand tickets had been release, and i full well knew the west upper wasn't even on sale yet.
