Given the way these players who are reported to be leaving or left played last year and the ones we have signed, I am looking forward to the season.
Still bitter we dumped your idol i see. How the hell can you class Gomis, Gylfi, Montero, Fabianski and Emnes as Championship players? As for gamble, you can't bet on Chico not getting a red card either
Who gives a toss provided we get the right players in. We have signed players who are at least as good as those who have left, in my opiniuon, Gomis, Gylfi and Montero are betterb than any player who has left this summer.
Midfield - Leon, Jonjo, Ki, Dyer, Routs, Montero, Fulton, Emnes and Gylfi makes our midfield stronger
Are you really saying Jeff, Fab, Gylfi, Kingsley and Bafe outweigh the loss (probable loss) of Ben Michu Vorm Bony Pablo Pozuello Canas Chico JdG Shelvey? And our named targets - something the club rarely gives information about - are turning us down. 11 days to kick off and we have Leon out with nobody too take his place.
Given that half the players you have named are still our players any comparison would be downright stupid
Who gives a toss about .... "and what are we paying, or having to pay, to bring in replacements." Cash flow does for one -- it's the difference between being solvent or not going into the future. In your opinion ... but you're not putting your money where your mouth is. Nobody is, which is why "we" don't have to care about "... what are we paying, or having to pay, to bring in replacements." However, in reality we should because it is the cavalier attitude to cash flow that got us into the Petty mess and before that brought about the demise of the club following our last period in Division 1 under Toshack. In real terms, Sig is a something of a known quantity. Montero is not at the Prem level and neither is Gomis. We can expect them to perform to a certain level, but that's not knowing. So far Montero has made full backs of the lower leagues look ridiculous. Let's see that happen against Zabaleta and we'll all be waving flags. Gomis has scored against weaker opposition but what's he going to do against the likes of Kompany. We know what Michu, Bony, Pablo etc can do - they are known quantities and demonstrated quality. If Bony leaves, it will mean a lot is going to be demanded of Gomis.
As it stands, Michu - Gylfi (Upgrade on last seasons Michu) JDG - Gomis Pozuello - Emnes (he did more during his loan spell here and was influencial) Part time Pablo - Montero (In my opinion, an upgrade on Pablo as Pablo for me was an impact player at best) Vorm (who wanted to go to Liverpool but the deal fell through because of Reina and someone who took plenty of stick on here last season) - Fabianski - Looked solid in the air against Reading Ben (Plenty were saying he needed to be dropped and criticised for being out of position and not doing anything in attack eiyther last season) - Taylor (Proven PL left back)
But with the exception of Shelvey, all have or are being touted to leave. Shelvey? News to me. Really don't want to see him leave and I hope that any rumors on that are nonsense.
Yes but we can only compare those who have left with those who have been brought in. As it stands we have a very strong squad, would still like another DM and RB/LB but Monk has said he's working on a couple of more transfers. Hopefully these transfers will solve those positions.
Agree. We'll be fine this season. Many on here are focusing on the players that have left instead of the ones that have arrived. Many also seem to think that because Gomis came for free that he's worthless. They talk as if players left but no-one arrived. Looking forward to top 10 finish.
Who? Name names. Just because criticism is levelled at the Club by posters here doesn't mean anyone wants us to fail - we're all passionate about the Swans. Grow up.
Come on DragonBorn. Look through the last few pages, I can think of at least 3 or 4 posters who seem to delight in every twist of bad news or ***** in the papers, who revel whenever there's the whiff of a player moving, who claim to follow the swans but never say a single positive word about them. Go on, look through the last 4 pages of posts, then try to come back and say you don't know who I'm talking about...
I am not going to read through the whole of this as I can imagine it has turned into a ML v GM thing again. My take on Chico. If he wants to stay i am happy to have him. If he wants to leave then sell and bring in an adequate replacement. Loads of clubs will be in our position losing players late in the transfer window and it is not new to anyone for that to happen. I have no doubt the club will have players in mind should he leave. With regard to whether we are stronger or weaker. Well there are players who have left who i would have prefered had satyed. Ben, Vorm and i do believe we are a bit weaker at the back with their loss and Rangel not getting any younger. I think Fab is adequate replacement but his distributuion is piss poor and hope that doesnt cost us or mean we knock long balls constantly. Going forward I think we look much stronger than last year with the addition of Siggy, Gomis and Montero. This however is dependent on Bony staying. So with a cuple more right signings I think we go in to the season looking pretty good.
Look at the posters who are constantly criticising Monk or Huw at every opportunity, even when there is a lot of speculation. Their reveling in giving the club a kicking at the moment. Plenty of examples in this thread alone. Not once have said posters given the club credit for the quality of player we have brought in.
No your not! It's why I keep of this board most of the time, I'm sure it will change once Monks team starts taking scalps, roll on the start of the season to shut up the negative women on here!.....................
Agree with Valley completely, but what the hell is this bollocks with getting into ML vs GM again. HE'S GONE. GET OVER IT FOR **** SAKE. Honestly its derailing every thread now. IMO this rumour sounds like bollocks anyway, if the Mirror are to be believed we would have sold our entire squad by the end of July.
