Can't think of any striker I would want from the Premiership. I can't see us going for Bony purely because we already have a Plan B type striker. What we need is a counter attacking striker with pace and movement. Remy would have been decent.
Benteke then. I'd rather sign him than Bony or J-Rod. Still think Remy is the one to go for if we aren't going for a the big name though.
With RHC saying four of us have mentioned the players name, it rules out Bony and Remy who everyone has mentioned. Not many have said J-Rod but a few have said Benteke.
Our transfer strategy of replacing Suarez has been embarrassing if the only players we targeted are Sanchez (only came in for him once we were selling Suarez), Remy and Bony.
Our strategy has been to build the strongest, most stylistically fitting squad we can. Would you prefer a Spurs embarrassment?
I'll wait until all of our business is done before giving an opinion on our signings.....am still hoping that there's a surprise to come!!
RHC. Could you tell us how many have said his name now and also how any have said Benteke, Whickham and Rodriguez?
Benteke fits the bill. 23 years old, was fantastic season before last, has a bit of everything in his game. I think Villa could have got £25m+ for him at the beginning of last season but held on to him and he had a disastrous season with injuries. That would be my concern but could be an absolute beast if he replicates 2012/13 season to be fair.
Probably the closest to Suarez we could get who is relatively affordable, however it won't happen unfortunately.
Benteke is still injured at the moment as well so if its him its a major risk as dont know how he will recover from his injury
