Cavani is not the player we need. Notice Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs and City have all ignored his availability to. No value for money.
Arsenal seem to think Giroud is the answer, Chelsea has Costa, Spurs want to make Soldado a success and are similar players and City have four class strikers as it is.
Reus, Benzema or Cavani. Cavani is a wonderful player. He's mentally tougher than Benzema and better suited to the EPL. Phenomenal work rate too.
idle speculation. RHC clues: 1. epl 2. international (no big deal that) 3. rhc not so sure, mate rates him highly 4. striker heres a list 1. benteke. (no sense in buying origi then eh?) 2. Negredo 3. wickham 4. Jovetic all of these leave me... .cold... heres a longer list..... Rooney Giroud Bony Dzeko Agüero Rodriguez Adebayor Crouch Weimann Campbell Soldado Welbeck Long Agbonlahor Borini Podolski Torres Chamakh Naismith Berahino Jelavic Gayle Cole
Considering quality and current team status, I'd say that has to be one of Bony, Remy, J-Rod or Benteke. Not seen any links at all for the latter and J-Rod is out injured so I can't see us getting him in. The other two have been heavily linked for weeks, one we had basically signed until the medical shat on it. That leaves the expensive and unneeded Bony as the sole survivor! I'd leave Bony and spend a bit extra getting Lavezzi or Shaqiri. The latter would leave us short on strikers but he would be a superb addition thats worth the sacrifice.
pah... we posted the same time but i put a little effort in by copying a list of strikers right off of fantasy football I would have to say that I don't see many prem league strikers that i'd either consider good enough OR conversely are not already at top 4 clubs... obviously that means utd players aint good enough Torres name screamed out no benteke IMO is the only name on said list who'd be fitting all criteria but its all a meh for me.
In which case you were lazier than me as you got it from one place, I look at each PL club and thought about what strikers they had that would interest us. I also eliminated and players I thought wouldn't join us. I didn't want to bore everyone with a list so I posted the four players that remained.
Bony would be a decent option if we got him for a good price. £19m for a player who is likely to play as a Plan B is too much, plus it makes the Lambert deal look even more ridiculous. Stating the obvious - I would like to sign a Suarez/Torres player i.e. someone who is around 23/24 years old, good experience in Europe, at a big-ish club, highly rated in Europe but not quite world class just yet. Easier said than done! But who is out there that fits this? There just seems to be players who are very young with a lot of potential or the world class stars. I can't think of any inbetweens.
I like the idea of signing Borini, think he'd be a good fit. RVP's missing from the list. Would explain why RHC's mate likes the target... Weren't we linked with Long at one point last summer? Can't see it this time though (please no). Benteke, Berahino, Bony, Wickham and Rodriguez are the only ones I could see as possibly plausible. So reckon it's Bony.
RHC. We'll list every striker in the Premier League and you say if you rate them and if your friend rates them. That will narrow it down. 1- Gabriel Agbonlahor.
