Bony = Benzema Bony £15-20m Benzema £35-40m In those video's,if the players delivering the ball to Bony were the likes of Gerrard, Coutinho, Henderson and Lallana and the players make the runs off of and ahead him were the likes of Sturridge, Sterling, Markovic and Lallana, any defense would struggle.
Not sure he's up there with Benzema.. But, you're right, he'll be at the very least 2x times the cost and most likely want 2x the wage too..
Nice post Flappy but from that I see his main strengths as: great hold up play and being able to pluck the ball from the air. We play on the floor with lightning fast breaks, do we need a Bony? He may bring another dimension to the team, but will that be the "lump it up to the big man" dimension?
He's got a clause for £19m.. But word on the Twatter-sphere is that they are willing to let him go a bit cheaper... £15m, for Prem. proven striker yet to reach his peak, none too shabby IMHO..
Well when we're looking for a goal if our slick passing on the ground isnt working who cares how we get that goal
We need a forward imo. We could of used cover for either Suarez or Sturridge last year (even before Suarez's departure) I suppose you could argue Lambert provides this to a degree.. But with Suarez gone we do need more options. Something I noted though: last year we got the best out of the two with Sturridge playing centrally and Suarez playing to the side, almost off Sturridge. Don't both Lambert and Bony play more centrally and more statically that our previous set up caters for? If so won't we be impeding Sturridge by playing them, as he will have to be the forward that provides movement? I would take Bony, but obviously would much rather Lavezzi or Shaqiri. Heck imagine if we could even get two out of three! (Can't see it happening though)
I've said it before and I'll say it now, we need to go for Cavani. Psg will listen to offers, he has played on the wing a lot so can interchange with Sturridge or Sterling at any time, is absolute quality and would be a marquee signing.
It was last week But yeah, it must be like operating on quicksand Did he also give you any behind the scenes insight into the Remy debacle?
The thing is on this tour every game has been against top quality opposition ( no 7-0 walkover for us) and it's at least highlighted the areas we need to strengthen rather than piss poor opposition where we scored loads and papered over the cracks. It's most Definately showed how poor we are in FB positions and until those areas are addressed it won't matter what CB pairing we put out because they will always be stretched with crosses raining in. It's also shown that we need another quality forward and I would still like to see another dynamic midfield player too.
Thing is, Swansea don't 'lump it' though...... I'm not sure on him but he finds the back of the net and that's what we need! Would prefer to see one or two of Shaq, Benzima, Reus but I think we may have to wait another year for our marquee signing. Or maybe we've already signed a superstar but nobody really knows it yet!!
I think he'd be great in a fast break. He does a lot of very nice little quick flicks there and moves the ball very quickly. I'm sure Sturridge is also very good at bringing the ball down to the ground to. Just because Swansea play that way does not mean its all Bony can do. Also, Suarez is not a pace player. Suare was not the one speeding away in the counter attacks most of the time. Sturridge and Sterling were.
Not keen on Cavani. Had poor WC and looked poor for psg in champions league last season. Not for me and esp at the price they would want. Rather have lavezzi.
