Ecclestone's bribery trial stopped after he paid an 80 mill settlement. A different world from us obviously.

Bribing people to forget about his bribery... seems about right.

I'm old enough to remember that. We were getting doorstep milk long after it was cool. It was really convenient actually; why has it died?

But the two overlapped for quite a long time. You don't have to do anything to get your doorstep milk. It's as simple as waking up and opening the door. Is it more expensive?

I stopped for several reasons....didn't need enough and kept throwing it away, had to remember and work out how to pay for it, remember to cancel it for holidays, and had money and milk stolen from step. Now I pick it up as I need it and pay for it at the time.

When I was a kid I did always used to think that if I ended up homeless I would go around stealing people's milk. I think it's important for kids to work out a plan for if they're homeless some day. That, and a zombie apocalypse plan. I have both.

My Zombie apocalypse plan is to give up and join the hoard. It would be pretty exciting living in a post apocalyptic world but it'd be too much effort to get through the initial day of the outbreak where you have to run through panicking crowds and find a plucky group of survivors to join up with.

Remember the golden rule...never join a group with a kid and a dog/cat...the brat will lose the animal, run off after it and endanger the whole group. Also...all old people should be cherished for their wisdom :)

Plus kids are annoying so nobody wants to survive with them. And cherished for their wisdom, sure, that or the knowledge that you only need to run faster than the slowest person. :D

I'll introduce you to my Dad and he'll tell you over a couple of hours.

Supermarket basically used milk as one of their price war tools. The price my Dad would pay for a pint of milk was way higher than that of a supermarket selling price. You just can't get the business anymore doing doorstep deliveries. My Dad retired end of last year and when he finished, somewhere between 30-40% of his customers stopped having doorstep milk delivered. They had basically stayed loyal to my Dad and stopped as soon as he stopped. He had been delivering in the same area for 50 years.

I do remember a few years ago the major supermarket chains (or some of them at least) were price-fixing milk, along with various other things. I did an essay on it for A-level economics, as well as Tesco land-banking and other ****ty, illegal things they'd been doing.

As long as your house hasn't been overrun, you can set up base there rather than playing the survival game outdoors. You'd want to fill up the bath to the brim with water, and all the sinks and anything else which can hold water, as your town's water supply won't last long. It'll stagnate, but you can fix that by boiling it.

My first rule for defense is that you need a fire axe. Not so much as a weapon (because it's slow and heavy to swing and there's blood splatter), but because you definitely will need to be breaking down locked doors, chopping wood to blockade doors and windows, breaking into crates of food, etc. Of course it also can make a handy secondary weapon.

For armour, you want to be head to toe in leather. It's light and basically impossible to bite through. You will look like a gimp, but that's a price you must pay. Motorcycle helmet also when you have to stray outdoors. I guess I'd also DIY a way to holster my fire axe down the back of my leather armour.

Next I guess you need to find some guns somewhere. But they'll be in short supply and people will kill you to get their hands on one, so careful with that.

Dogs and cats can find you food. Don't be so quick to ditch/eat them. Use them for hunting.

Old people will slow you down when you're on the move. I'm also not sure if they'll be able to handle weapons.

Ha! He'd be a pretty crap spy if I was allowed to come on here and tell you what he was doing! No, he currently provides security evaluation and support for clients ranging from oil companies through to those companies that are looking to build new infrastructure - schools/hospitals etc - in dangerous places.

But what about finding a group? There's no point surviving if you don't have a gang of misfits with you to have fun with and eventually murder when it turns out they're bad guys. But I guess the gun thing is why America is always better in zombie apocalypses than we are. Is that a second amendment positive? Probably.

I'd be useless in a zombie apocalypse, seeing as I didn't grow up playing games like Fallout :(
