Good Morning Everyone, Frederik Sorensen is set to join Leeds today, subject to his medical. Cellino will have the option to buy Sorensen from Juventus any time during his 12 month loan period. The fee we be in the region of 3.5m - 4m. Last season Sorensen played at Bologna and was close to joining Udinese in the deal for Pereyra. The 6-4 defender will certainly help fortify Leeds fragile defence. It looks as if Sorensen and Pearce will provide the backbone of the team. Thoughts? Play-maker Zan Benedicic is now a Leeds Utd player. The Slovenian Under-21 player, 18 has joined on a season-long loan with United having an option to buy him permanently. Cellino is now going to turn his attention to bring another forward to the club. I don't know about you, but I'm getting quite excited. I would not want to be in Millwall's shoes come Saturday afternoon. The Leeds team is taking shape nicely. Leigh Bromby is joining the Huddersfield coaching team. I'm sure we all wish him well.
I'm still yet to get excited but I do find myself more optimistic of late. Benedicic sounds promising, happy we have the option to buy in there because he really could be someone for the future. Sorenson also does sound like a good buy so hopefully we can get him over the line. I still find myself thinking we might struggle to break down defences without any natural width though. In fact it takes me back to the start of last season in many ways where we were playing the diamond in midfield which made us quite hard to break down but really we relied on Ross to do something special to win a game othewise we ended up with a 0-0 draw. Think the start of the season is going to come a little too soon. Morning by the way
Morning Josh, hope you're well pal Stark contrasts to the signings we made last year. Still pinching myself when I see we're signing players for the future from Milan, Juve etc....
Good Morrow Great to see us bring in good players but we still need to bring in a few more before the end of this window. I'l get more excited when we sign player for the future from British clubs
Morning guys, think this is the first season in years we've looked like we're getting decent hungry players in, rather than over the hill has beens. Think they will take a bit of time to gel and we still need a proven striker. But signs are good. Millwall beware!!! Can't wait for Saturday and 3 points. Come on Leeds Morrison hat trick.
Milwall game comes too soon for this new team, and Hock has no chance of fielding what will be his best team. I think we will see a bit of a war on Saturday with Hollaway winding his boys up and them getting a boot in. I think we saw last week that we have 2 new players who will be starters and great additions to the team, this Sorenson signing which could cost us £4m is a dream if he's as good as expected, and if you factor in young Zan and the way he plays and runs at defenders then I'm getting optimistic for a month or so down the line, but not yet as these newbies haven't even met each other yet.
Good morning Matt and co from a very sunny cote de Bardsey. We had a very nice day at Whitby after a poor start caught in a traffic jam on the York ring road got the map out and went through Sherrif Hutton over the Hawardian Hills to Pickering . I like this try before you buy we can assess the boys and decide if they are worth the asking price .Must say the Juventus laddie has all the attributes to become a crowd favourite he should galvanize our defence. Now we need a striker and a couple of wide boys but maybe we have left it a bit late but better late than never! Wish Zen all the best it must be quite daunting for an18 year old to come all this way but then I think of my father who went to France at 18 to fight in the first world war I think I know which shoes I prefer
Morning Doc, agree. We will field an experienced team. Shame we don't have a few Michael Browns in there....
Morning Mike, you alright pal Bloody overcast in Southampton... Agree, a striker with a pedigree is a must now...
Morning troops. All these incomers are potentially good news. However, they need to gel very quickly and not upset the home grown players. We need to keep a happy ship, not just bring in a few who look good on paper, but then can't cope with a cold night in Yorkshire in December way to a little team such as 'uddersfield.good luck to Bromby by the way). All looking good, but only time will tell if this is going to work.
Not sure glad is the word Elland but at least this year I've the added benefit of actually looking forward to a football season. As you all well know, I found the last four seasons painful at best, with no visible future for the club and dire football probably 80% of the time. Today I'm actually thankful to gfh for one thing, moving bates on and paving the way for Cellino
Morning all.... Zen do we have an option to buy does anyone know? Said the other day the start of the season is going to come just a little too soon.. If our defence performs in reality as it should do on paper it is looking like the best we have had in years, well it will do if Sorenson signs. Just a prolific goal scorer to find now and that won't be easy, let's hope the new guys get up to match fitness as quickly as possible. I just hope we see a few lining up against Millwall on Saturday
Morning, one thing I know is that this Benedicici kid has not swapped not playing in Milan to come here and not play in the first team at Leeds. He is here to be a first team starter and while I don`t think he will start on Saturday he will be making his debut in the cup at home to Accrington Stanley next week I am sure. And I am pretty sure it does not only get cold in England on Tuesday nights so am sure the lads from Slovenia & Switzerland (were it gets very cold) should be fine, as will the others
