Really, that's the most charitable explanation...it's virtually impossible to argue that this is all going according to plan, assuming that the plan was to do robust business in this window.

The point is that you need more than one goal threat unless your one goal threat has a Suarez-level season, and Pelle isn't going to do that.

I'm slightly worried, but having read Saintsweb for a bit, you can see the same people ramming down a negative agenda, almost like they enjoy having a go at the club they support. I do want us to make signings; doesn't mean I have to have a paddy every five minutes about it.
Someone else can possibly provide more detail but basically he posts on Saintsweb and the club are deliberately leaking information to the fans through him.
The amount of money everyone knows we have is possibly working against us right now. But it will work for us come the last day or two of the transfer window when clubs, players & agents all want to get moves done.
Yes, the players we're interested in will possibly become subject to bids from other clubs outside the top 6. Rather than the selling club creating a bespoke figure tailored for Southampton's current affluence, the fees and bids will be more realistic as less flush clubs enter the fray. We just have to keep our nerve and outbid when the time comes. So no change there really.
Hi Beefy, Plenty will make me happy if the signings actually happen just feeling frustrated and cynical at present as everything seems to be taking so long to get these signings over the line. Just hope the board aren't taking us for a bunch of mugs Will be delighted if we sign any of Ings , Clasie , Vlaar , Van Dijk , Forster , Rojo even Redmond , Hernandez and happy to give Schelleto a chance. The boards pr skills need improving as it is better to under promise and also one would think of having a replacement signed before releasing key 1st teamers. A couple of decent signings will reassure most of us and hopefully that will be the Celtic boys later this week.
You don't have to justify your happiness, there are plenty of other people thinking the same thing. Its easy to pretend everything's going to be just fine, when in reality a lot of work needs doing.
I agree. It's not pessimism, nor of course great optimism, but realistic to the situation we are in. We need to sign players in key areas - in particular central defence. Of course, as many have said, we want to bring in new players, but for some reason or combination of reasons it is proving very difficult. When we sign a decent CB, I will be much calmer about our squad, but at the moment I am still concerned.
