If they'd have priced the programmes at £5 there would have been uproar 'Greedy bastards' and so on.
Its a fine gesture, the club are in Europe and this is a souvenir, as it the price reduction, which has worked far better then anyone imagined.
Perhaps someone at the club is trying to rebuild a few bridges?

Every now and again the Hull public turn out in massive numbers for a relatively unglamorous game.

    Swansea 2003

    Sheff wed away 2004

    Now this one.

Its happened many times over the years. I believe that once people believe they are missing out on something, they want to be there or a part of it.
Doncaster Rovers away FL Cup rd 3? 1975, we were taking less then 100 to away games at that time, the club were doing FA and the team was on the wane but all of a sudden something sparked an interest in the Football League Cup, not that City had any history in it at all, but over 10,000 went from Hull that night, probably far more then that because it was a colossal gate at the time for Donny.
The secret is create the interest, price it right, and the people will turn up.

Shame all these folk couldn't get off their arses for that SAFC quarter final game last season.

I wonder if anyone at the club knows why?

I remember going to that match. A lot of good the support did whatever level it really was. We lost.

    Hardly unglamorous games those ones!!
The Swansea game was a pivotal moment in our awakening.
    Wednesday one, little explanation needed.
And for once (or twice!) the script went to plan and they turned out to be amongst the most memorable nights in our history.

Swansea- 4th tier night game in September, hardly pivotal or a local derby
SWFC- 3rd tier mid December/mid season midweek night game against middle of the table opposition.

I was there, got in for nowt, some of the hooligan element got fed up of waiting to pay, then a wriggley tin fence fell down so we just walked in. And then we lost.

My husband played football for them in the 50's but did his choir singing at St Giles Marfleet.

Absolutely pivotal. It was us and Swansea up there. They were the team to beat, and we did thanks to that Stuart Elliot header. People knew it was the night that could confirm for certain that something special really was finally happening at our club. And so it proved to be. Great night.
SW - you're having a laugh right? After decades of being the joke, WE were finally the club on the up and this was the opportunity, seized with both hands, to for once lord it over one of our most despised rivals.
