Morning all. Normally the first Sunday in August I wander along to a large brocante sale that is held in the nearby small town. The sun shines and one is pleased that it is held beneath the shade of some ancient plane trees. It is always an event where you meet up with people you haven't seen for some time and a chance to catch up with their news. Today I will not be going. The Gods are having a dispute overhead, with flashes and bangs, and now the rain is tipping down. I am sorry for the stallholders as they will be getting a soaking and not many will turn up to see what items they are trying to pass off, items that the sellers have decided are a waste of space.
For what it is worth with all the nastiness that has recently been brought to our board not least thanks to people who have told us how to run our board I thought I would share a bit of info about what really matters in life. Tomorrow I have to go to London where Mrs L is having a Cardiac MRI as her heart thrombus has not responded as it should to 15 months of blood thinning injections. Tomorrow will help discover why and whether it is just because the heart medication does not fit well with the cancer medication or whether indeed the thrombus is actually another cancer. There will be no good result only one slightly better than the other. The pressure and depression such matters involve make boards such as this an escape into an alternative world that should be "nice". Luckily my fellow Watford fans live up to that as do some of our esteemed guests.
Leo, certainly you have my best wishes for you and specially your wife. I know this cannot be easy for two of you and I hope there is some good news for you both.
Leo, please, I beg you, bring us some good news on return! Love and best wishes to your wife, you are both in our thoughts and prayers!
Leo I really hope that the better news is the one to emerge. Always glad that you can share such things with us. There is not a lot that we can do except let you know that both of you are in our thoughts and do have our support if that can help slightly.
Leo.Likewise both you and your wife have my greatest sympathy. Let us all hope for the best possible outcome.
thanks all - will be a few weeks before we get the results unfortunately but at least by this time tomorrow the visit will be over. Sorry to post on this - I know it is not "fun" stuff and have tried to avoid the subject since my return as it becomes all I think about and that itself does not help.
I have been a follower of you all from the days of bbc 606 . you are such a nice band of people . I feel proud to be looked on as a small part of this Watford site. living so far from home you make life that little bit easier. so to leo and every one of you take a pat on the back from a far away friend .
If my new book would offer a further touch of escapism, Leo, I'll send you a copy if you PM an address. Obviously a difficult time for you and your wife...our thoughts will be with you tomorrow.
Dear Leo, we have been friends (if I may call you such as we have never met) On occasions we have differed in our opinions but still respected each other's views. I like all on this site have followed your peaks and troughs in your personal life and feel upset for both you and your and Lady Wife that you have once again met health problems. I would therefore like to send you both My very best wishes and prayers at this time.
Words don't mean much Leo and I wish I could offer more, but I hope that our small circle of friends here can offer some small support to you and Mrs L. Hope it all goes as well as you hope.
