What difference would it make, Player 1 on £20k a week guaranteed player 2 on £8k a week with a promise of a bonus if promoted? Both instances you could have a player not bothering, at least player two might try and get his act together, player one would have a lengthy well paid contract no matter what the results and we know that doesn't work We are signing young players with the best years ahead of them
If we sign Sorenson and Delort, my view will change to becoming a little more excited about the season. As far as I understand the Benedicic signing has already happened as well, still think we are desperate for wide options.
I don't understand why our signings aren't being shown on the site as and when they've been made. Surely you'd make a big (ish) deal out of them? Its almost like they don't want us to know :-/
How many quality signings have you lot made again.... Fede Bessone Unassigned Players Free Carlos Edwards Ipswich Town Loan Ricardo Fuller Blackpool Free Owen Garvan Crystal Palace Loan Lee Gregory FC Halifax Undisclosed Magaye Gueye Unassigned Players Free Stefan Maierhofer Unassigned Players Free Byron Webster Yeovil Town Free I'd consider Garvan out of that lot, and thats only because i don't know how good he is, you can keep the rest. Cheers!
You forgot Briggs from Fulham - apart from Gregory who has scored 72 in 3 seasons, all the rest have either Premiership or Championship experience - I think any one of these players would walk into the Leeds team and be your best player
Talksport has us linked with Uruguayan winger Lores Varela from Palermo a winger who was on loan at Bari last season
Feel free to explain why they would work any less on players who are being paid let's say £20k a week, it really makes no difference. You could say the higher paid players don't care if they sit on the bench or in the reserves, they are being paid no matter what. Cellino is far wiser than I when it comes to contracts and a performance related pay, it doesn't mean it has to be based on promotion and it could be based on final league position, your scaremongering doesn't work with me
Carlos Edwards is nearly 36 Bessone couldn't get a game at Oldham Fuller is nearly 35 (He may do "ok") Garvan may do ok, but he's hardly set the world alight so far Gregory has scored 72 goals for .... Halifax, although my old fella played for Halifax a long long time ago so i'm not slagging them off... Gueye 1 goal in 24 for Everton nice Maierhofer isn't there any more Webster might be ok for you, but he's hardly set the world alight either Briggs has made 30 appearances in the last 8 years, 13 of them at Fulham Any other top quality signings i've missed?
Good afternoon fellow Leeds fans (that includes you TC). Just been having a look to see what's going on over at JA606. They are trialling a new feature which will allow a JA606 member to provide live commentary on matches. So now, if you can't get down to Elland Road on a Saturday and miss having some know-it-all doom merchant sat next to you spouting drivel and constantly moaning for 90 minutes, just log into JA606 instead.
@InTheKop: Delort is joining Charlton Athletic on a 4 year deal. #cafc #lufc Positive Brenden ‏@Brendencolgan1 58m @InTheKop In France they seem to think it is Leeds... @Brendencolgan1 Not really, fans found the article they wanted to read. As Phil said, consensus in France is Charlton/Brentford. Delort retweeting the fans of all the sides interested. Like a worse version of the Hazard saga. #lufc
Carlos Edwards is nearly 36 - Had him for the last 2 months of last season - was immense and was a big part of our 8 game unbeaten run that saved us Bessone couldn't get a game at Oldham - On a pay as you play basis - has played 1 game - no problem there!! Fuller is nearly 35 (He may do "ok") - Looked good in pre-season and will be a good player for our youngsters to learn from - very happy with this signing Garvan may do ok, but he's hardly set the world alight so far - back at Palace!! Gregory has scored 72 goals for .... Halifax, although my old fella played for Halifax a long long time ago so i'm not slagging them off... - was wanted by 8 other clubs but chose us - will be a good signing and expect him to score loads. Gueye 1 goal in 24 for Everton nice - 9 goals in 27 for Stazburg before joining Everton for £1M - not bad for a winger Maierhofer isn't there any more - correct Webster might be ok for you, but he's hardly set the world alight either - Again wanted by a host of clubs but chose Millwall - 53 Championship games under his belt - good signing Briggs has made 30 appearances in the last 8 years, 13 of them at Fulham - he's only 23 - think you'll find he's made 77 appearances including 8 in the Europa League - also played for Watford when they made the playoffs - will be a massive signing for us Any other top quality signings i've missed?
It's very impressive that millwall have made all these coups in the transfer market. I'm wondering who all these other clubs interested in the players were. And how millwall managed to beat them to the signatures. Guess it must be the size of the club, the tradition, the belief that the club is a promotion favourite, the incomparable pulling power. Can't have been that they were competing with Mid table conference sides.
