I see what you mean, in terms of prestige in winning a trophy it wont mean jack, we dont want to turn into Arsenal and their Markus Lieberman and Emirates Cup bullshit. But it terms of the Liverpool/Man Utd rivalry, I guess it will give one set of fans first bragging rights for the season, for what thats worth.
Indeed, I hadn't even thought about the trophy and now that I have I really couldn't give a ****. But the opportunity to take the wind from their sails (this works both ways) before the season starts is something to play for.
This means everything. So important all wars will stop for 90 minutes ( except the war of the lizard people!!!!!!! ) and the sun will go into hibernation in australia ( 7 outback truckers will die as a result ). The seven gods of the 12 kingdoms of Jupiter will align and something bla bla etc etc...
Bull! There has been less than 50% first team players starting and we don't have a top striker even in America at the moment. I agree with this. The trophy and title mean nothing... the gap between teams at top half of the table is only 50% ability/tactics- the other 50% is confidence/morale. Couldn't give a poop about the trophy- but getting that momentum going early- and stifling the opponents is the real trophy to be won. I think it will probably mostly depend on who takes it more seriously. Neither club is going to treat this as a true friendly- and neither club is going to go all out. Cliché is true this time... it will be won by whoever wants it more. Twonited are C1ty's little brother now. #herefishyfishy Also- if you can claim City's trophies... we can claim Evertons! We've won the league more times than you!
If United win, it will be a great boost for morale and against an RS team viewing the match as "the biggest club match in world football" If the RS win, we definitely can't have taken the match seriously and who cares it was ****ing glorified friendly anyway .
It will be a pissing about bragging rights though, nobody is going to use it in a serious manner. Well, maybe matth and weararedbonnet will but their opinions don't count
If we played you at crown green bowling I'd want us to win. Please note we'd smash you at crown green bowling.
Gerrez, typical YSB comment. Even before the first match was played, I have been saying the whole competition is nothing but glorified exhibition matches. But if your too dumb to read what I said, your as bad as PMT with unfounded deductions and accusations
Gerrez, seeing your so eager to post comments without reading the facts, I posted this even before United and your team had even qualified I just think the lad should be given a chance. Nothing to lose from it, its only a glorified exhibition match. And if you cast your mind back a few years, Evra and Vidic hardly had convincing opening spells. But look what happened when they got into the United way So please, stick to the fackts next time, or do you have the same interpretation of fackts as the fat spanish waiter? And why is the link to comments of theevilreddevil appropriate?
