Bristol City boss Keith Millen has said he wants to keep hold of goalkeeper Stephen Henderson. The 23-year-old is out of contract this summer and has been attracting interest from two unnamed clubs. But Millen aims to convince the ex-Republic of Ireland Under 21 international that his future is at Ashton Gate. He said: "Stephen knows we want him to stay and he has an offer from us. "He's looking at his options as there's other clubs who are interested who can offer him first-team football." Henderson, who arrived in 2007, has played just five times for City. He has had loan spells at Weymouth, Aldershot and Yeovil Town. City would be entitled to compensation if Henderson moved elsewhere as he is under the age of 24. The club have already agreed a new two-year deal with Dave Gerken and first-choice keeper David James wants to stay on for another season.
"bristol boss"????????? bristol is the rugby club. bristol city is the club your talking about. i am sure you dont go on the man utd or man city board saying "manchester boss". just for future reference.
I'd like to keep Henderson here aswell but it looks like he'll be on his way after Gerken signed a new contract not long ago. Can't blame the lad really as all he wants to do is play football.
If the "gasheads" get their new rented accomodation in South Gloucestershire, that too will be insignificant and there really will be only 1 team in Bristol. Bristol City and that is very significant..
i liked higgs interview. when questioned about rovers stadium being in south gloucestershire, he said city will be in somerset so there will be no bristol football clubs left from 5mins 18secs to 5mins 56 secs http://www.itv.com/westcountry-east/higgs-on-new-stadium89958/
....and you still believe in Higgs,go on tell us,what's at the bottom of your garden or favourite place....?
You'll need Henderson and Gerken cos when you sell Maynard James will look around at all the inspired signings and decide that he is prepared to travel a little further along the M5/M6/M4 to play football. You know it's true!
Hard luck, but we all know our stadium is inside the Bristol boundary. And we also all know that your stadium definitely wont be. ONE TEAM IN BRISTOL YET AGAIN!!!!
so we both agree that we both have to go out of bristol to watch our clubs. you got there in the end so well done
I think we're building a new pedestrian access from Winterstoke Rd....Still haven't told us what's at the bottom of your garden...?
Henderson is a great keeper, and as is now commonplace with Bristol City we're probably going to have to let a good player go because of a lack of opportunities. Quite frankly, I would have offered him a new deal over Gerken, but hopefully we can send Gerken out on loan this season and keep Henderson as a back-up.
you "think"?? so you dont know if there is access from winterstoke rd?? btw, bottom of my garden is my very own private footpath running all the way to ashton vale where my dogs take their biggest dumps please log in to view this image
I'd like us to keep henderson, but if he wants first team football then I think he will leave because he's not going to get much here with James and Gerken here So your gardens full of **** then is it Captain
We don't even know if we've got a stadium yet, you'll find out, how's you're new rented accomodation in South Gloucestershire progresssing.... I understand local residents against it are getting organised to protest...
