Brighton Pride celebrated by thousands on the streets Brighton Pride celebrated by thousands on the streets

Note to the bigoted *****s: I did not attend the parade or the semenfest which is Preston Park where the gays all congregate, I went to an Ale and Cider pub near my house then went home and snorted lots of expensive overpriced drugs and s**tloads of mandy.

Thousands of people have been out on the streets of Brighton and Hove to celebrate this year's Pride festival.

The Brighton Pride parade received loud claps and cheers as it made its way from the seafront through the city centre towards Preston Park, where a party was being held into the evening.

This year's theme was The World's a Disco to celebrate the dance, music and colour of the globe, a spokesman said.

The parade also highlighted countries where homosexual acts are illegal.

Seventy-eight placards were carried by campaigners under the theme Freedom To Live.

The Brighton Pride spokesman said costumes and floats highlighted not only the diversity of the world's dance floors but the plight of those across the globe whose basic freedom to live was denied.

Sussex Police also joined the parade as well and flew the Pride flag outside Brighton's main police station.

Ch Supt Nev Kemp, the city's divisional commander, said: "It's an honour to be a part of the biggest event in Brighton and Hove's calendar which celebrates our LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) community and showcases our wonderful city."
    Caroline Lucas at Brighton Pride

Brighton MP Caroline Lucas also received loud cheers as she made her way along the route on the Green Party float.

She tweeted a picture of herself with a Green Party supporter as she prepared to take part in the day's events, describing the parade as "wonderful".

Appearances from boy band Blue, Katy B and a disco finale from X Factor winner Sam Bailey were set to be the highlights of the ticketed party in Preston Park.
    ****************
I did not attend as I was too hungover from a hectic week at work but it's nice to see that I live in a town that's so tolerant of anyone (apart from pikeys and EDL *****s) that is ready to respect his fellow citizens. It's Mick's idea of hell, a nice place to live full of happy, mostly intelligent hippies that are content with what life has given them and have nothing to prove to themselves...

Also, as the UKIP dude predicted ages ago but the PC obsessed media derided him for it, the weather was **** due to all the gayness in the area, as God always makes it rain on the gays for Pride in Brighton (honestly, check the stats!)

I, for the record, spent the night with some friends babysitting their kid, no bummings for me :(

Are all of you *****s as intolerant of the gays as you were a while ago or has it slowly sunk in that it's not that much of a big deal if they marry/adopt kids?*

*Apart from ER, whose denial of his inherent ****iness and lust for penises ruined his "marriage" and his kid's life, he still statistically remains one of the few examples of a ****ter who shouldn't be allowed to father kids <ok>

I was going to watch cricket at Hove once and this lot all got on the train at Fratton. I'm a tolerant person but there were families on the train, who had to listen to various gay sex acts being graphically discussed loudly for the whole journey. They had absolutely no respect or "pride" whatsoever.

What the lesbians were talking about was good though.

There were two just behind me and they were talking about what sort of girls they liked, they both sounded quite predatory, one was really into blonde girly types, she just didn't stop talking about it, while the other was more into the athletic types someone called the warrior girl or something like that.

<whistle> They were better looking than 2 that were behind me in the queue at Tesco's once, these two had had an argument one saying to the other that "well you had woken up grumpy", I thought, Hello! But when I slyly turned for a look it was an overweight doc marten/dungeree fest, both of them.

    Don't know which is sadder.

The fact you boast about taking "overpriced drugs"

The fact that you think anyone would be surprised by Brighton welcoming the gays

The fact that you think anyone on here really cares about gay marriage / adoption

Or the fact you think anyone would be interested in your rollercoaster of a Saturday night

If the Gays have a Fleg they should expect to see it atop several bonfires at next year's 11 July Cultural festivities.

Surprised at the OP in this thread to be honest.

Homophobia belongs to a bygone era and shows the OP up in a bad light.
