Anyone know what the procedure normally is on these open training sessions? Autographs and photos before the training or after? The session is supposed to start at 10am. Just wondering what time to get there for. An extra hour in bed would be nice and not have to drag the kids out of bed too early to make the trip from Wexford.
They do the training session first and as that tails off the players and coaching staff head over to the fans in dribs and drabs for photo's and autographs.. Barton and Brian Murphy will be over last as they usually have a penalty shoot-out at the end. The winner gets £10. Barton will spend ages with the fans at the end though.
I know. I stayed out in the pissing rain waiting for the team to get on the bus after the match in Tallaght. Fair play to Ferdinand, Dunne and Barton in particular for taking their time and working through the crowd signing autographs and taking photos. Taarabt and SWP got straight on the bus and ignored the crowd that had gathered. I can forgive Adel but who does that little twerp SWP think he is.
Why can you forgive Adel but not SWP.... Both should remember that it is ultimately the fans they are responsible to
I will always have a soft spot for Adel for the joy he brought me during the first promotion season in particular. SWP is a leech. Was there ever a worse footballer paid so much?
Playing on so many people "having a soft spot" is no reason for downright rudeness, inconsiderateness...and a "I am too good for this" attitude. I think we are getting to the crux of our problems with Adel...compare and contrast to bad boy Barton...and real gentle men Dunne and Hill....who spend hours with the fans, especially the kids. As a kid, you will remember your contact with players, they are your heroes. I love Tony Hazell more than Rodnee for that reason...because he spoke to me when he signed my book, Rodnee just scribbled his name. But EVERY player stopped and signed....no one was allowed to walk past
It is a lovely bright sunny day. Fair play to you for coming all that distance Inky and fair play to you Ciarrai for staying an extra night in Dublin just for this. Fantastic dedication by both of you.
Beth, 100% spot on !!!! There in lies the crux of the matter, certain players have their head up their arse !!
Can't believe the crowds here this morning. They are 6 deep watching the training. There must be 400 to 500 people here. Unbelievable. Extra security staff on duty to control the crowds. Harry made his grand entrance on the back of a golf buggy and got a great reception.
Adel will need a sandwich or a lard based IV soon, any of the fans looking after him? Can't wait to see the lad try that Irish Shishsa. It'll Blow his head off.
One thing I have noticed this morning, Remy is definitely not fit. He is training on his own with the coaches doing running etc. He is not participating in the mini training match. He seems to be struggling a bit with his running. Doubt he will be ready for the Hull match.
Been receiving photos and video at my desk in the office this morning from my Mrs, two of my girls and my nephew of all the players via Whatsapp as they are staying up the road from Carton House at the moment. They got a nice photo with Ale as he came out of a different door from the rest of the team early doors.
Thanks Finglas! It's only a month since he ws playing WC, it must have been an exhausting Liverpool medical! How is Adel doing?
I'm not that surprised - he's just got back from a month off. He'll be about the level the rest of the squad were for the first Germany game, or the first training session!
