Such a disappointing frustrating summer so far for Saints. Hope the next few weeks are spectacular but I won't hold my breath. Hoped we get a couple of players in this weekend after Koeman's comments and a bit concerned we seem to be linked with more and more loans which doesn't stack up with Read and Kruger's comments about seriously investing in the squad. if they haven't by September 1st I will be seriously judging them like they say and will never believe another word they say. Now its actions not words that matter in the transfer market from the board We do need some of these decent permanent signings like Van Dijk , Rojo/Vlaar , Clasie , Ings in before the West Brom home game as that is a game we really don't want to be losing if we don't want to get off to a really poor start as assume we will lose at Anfield
Hi all. Just wondered if anyone on here is as worried as I am about this summer. Millions made in player sales, millions more in TV income and now we are bringing in a load of loans of dubious quality. Everything seems short term and until we see evidence to the contrary, we must assume we are up for sale surely?
Not worth having a meltdown about but it's still quite a depressing situation. You would hope that if they are selling that they get it done ASAP. Hopefully with a new committed owner next season we will have survived this year and able to rebuild.
Is batman coming too? I think the board is more patient than we are. I know people want players to gel, but if we bring in the two loans plus three or four decent perms by Sep 1 I will be satisfied.
No point having a meltdown until September 2nd, yeah, and if we haven't got the right quality in or players then there's an issue. I don't get why people think Kat's selling, when Krueger said it in all 3 of his recent interviews that she wasn't. She may well decide to eventually though. Having a new owner may not be the best way to go either, look at other clubs like Fulham, Reading etc. The grass isn't always greener unfortunately.
People believe it for two reasons, I think: There have been media reports suggesting that she's selling, and; Many people don't believe a word out of Ralph's mouth.
I agree no guarantees about any new owner. Would like someone sensible but committed though. Sorry but don't trust a word Ralph says. The actions of the club thus far contradict their words.
That and what I already outlined such as short term loans, not spending excessive amounts of the money, not being able to articulate their plans for the future etc.
In fairness this transfer is relevant to the theory of selling so it's worth talking about in that context.
How is it? Until the end of the transfer window we have no clue what will happen. If we only bring in loans then we have something to talk about. Until then I don't see the point in suggesting two players coming in on loan in exchange for Osvaldo = we will get sold.
Hi guys, I got your shout, currently i would avoid linking this to another user, however, as i'm not knowledgeable on Southampton stuff, it is your call on whether the content of posting is a wind-up and whether the user stays or goes. Cheers Site Admin
Oh dear. Seems a bit unfair to label me a wum after 4 posts. I don't feel like I've done anything on here to warrant such a response.
New posters don't normally jump in with both feet the way Hypo has, it just seems a bit suspicious to my cynical mind. What do you other guys think?
