Sky Sports understands former Brighton winger Andrea Orlandi is keeping his options open with a number of clubs chasing his signature.

Orlandi is a free agent after surprisingly being released by Brighton earlier this season after two years at Amex Stadium. The classy Spaniard helped Brighton reach the Championship play-off semi-finals in the last two seasons, but saw his appearances limited last term due to injuries.

The 29-year-old is now back to full fitness and is currently training with old club Swansea as he looks to maintain his fitness ahead of fixing himself up at a new club.

Orlandi is believed to be keen on staying in the UK and a number of Championship and top League One clubs are understood to be weighing up offers for the winger

We should keep him, he would be a great squad player!....................<ok>

Orlandi for Poz? Garry Monk is a genius..........................<laugh>

Free transfer with nothing to lose. It would make sense.

A good player. It was only injuries which let him down. Not sure if he's still good enough for us though as we're overflowing with midfielders <ok>

Is he back from Paris yet? If so,is he wearing a tam, and has he got a string of onions around his neck? <laugh>

Orlandi is a good shout. One year contract and see what he does if given the chance.

Always liked the lad, real classy player . I'd sign him on a year contract.

Always rated Orlandi but felt that he was better suited to play at a higher level as he was unable to cope with the physicality of the lower divisions. Might be worth a one year contract as a squad player because he just might click.

He did play for us in the Prem Ivor, I'm not sure if you remembered. He had several games including an outstanding one against Villa away, but the injuries kicked in again.........

Yeah, PGF, I remember. I also remember MANY away games where the radio commentators said that he was the most outstanding player on the park. Shame it never quite happened for him but I've always believed that any player who gets anywhere near the Barca first team has to have talent. I wish him well.

I see Orlandi's level as being like a lot of other players. A tad above Championsip level but not quite good enough for the Prem. I haven't changed my mind and if he came here can you see him getting a game? A good distributor of the ball but comparing him to Pozuelo is apples and oranges - different kind of player entirely.

Not good enough for PL. Waste of money to pay his wages, especially as he had injury problems. He's been let go by a Championship side, and other Championship and League One sides are interested in him. Why would we want him? Surely we should be looking for better quality than Championship cast-offs

Liked the guy very much but agree he is not good enough for this level. I'm glad we are helping him out but that's as far as it goes. He will get a club soon im sure....

He could do with a South Wales club with good Championship credentials who play good football. Newport County have a gap in midfield..............<laugh>

Have you ever thought that with the last few seasons he has had at Brighton in the starting XI has made him a far better player? some of the performances I watched, he was the difference for Brighton, I really do not understand them letting him go, but then Poyet was instrumental in bringing him to Brighton wasn't he? I think we should at least take another look at him with De Goose gone!................<ok>

Maybe, but if he has improved then surely they'd keep him. Worth taking a look, and maybe that's why he's training with us.

I liked him when he was with us but we have moved on since then. We are now a Premier League club and need to start thinking like Premier League fans. A young player with potential is worth a punt or in an emergency an older player with PL experience. I am afraid Andrea Orlandi doesn't fall into either of these categories

Too injury prone, and we've always had our fair share of those players.

I remember getting to Villa Park and thinking 'why have they played him away from home.' When he went off injured at half time I was gutted. he ran that game for the time he was on the pitch. Unfortunately he is far to fragile. If made of a little bit sterner stuff would have had a long PL career.

Maybe have him on Pay per play, if that was possible.
