Let's not all get too carried away about this - it's a pre-season friendly. The main thing is no-one get's injured. The result means nothing, and the teams certainly won't be the teams that will be starting the first game of the PL (loads of subs etc.) It's great for the Americans that it's a Liverpool vs Utd final, as both temas have huge followings over there. I can see the fans getting carried away with the result, and using it as an assumption as to who will have the better season - which is bollocks imo.
No excuses, just reality mate. I think we'll win, but couldn't really give a **** if we don't. As long as we stay injury free, nothing else matters.
From the start, I have been banging on about how these games are glorified freindlies. But United v Liverpool in a friendly? No such thing
Personally I never want to lose vs Liverpool so anyone saying otherwise is talking bollocks. The fact it's a meaningless game is irrelevant as no one wants their team to lose.
Very true. But I'm sure the managers will make a point that although it's a Liverpool vs UTD game - don't do anything stupid that could put you out for 3 months...So yeah it's a friendly that's kind of not a friendly (if you get me). Put it this way we won't see a match anything like we will when the teams meet in the PL
Obviously I want Liverpool to win, but on this occasion it's not the end of the world if we don't. It's pretty obvious we'll win anyway
Its not meaningless sweats, big Louis want a trophy. " If Van Gaal does oversee a win over Liverpool it would mean a trophy within three weeks of officially taking over, though he is unsure if this would be the quickest trophy of a glittering career. “I don’t know I also won the Taylor Com Cup in Germany, the Super Cup in Germany and the Netherlands. But the impact of this tour is bigger than the Taylor Com Cup or the Super Cup in the Netherlands. We are here. " http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/aug/03/real-madrid-manchester-united-pre-season-friendly-match-report Looks like Utd's strongest side will be playing our squad and youth players.
"full strength"? Jones, Kelly, Suso, Ibe, Coates, Robinson, Coady, Borini, Ward, Wisdom have all been given game time in our games over there Mr custard.
Biggest pre season friendly in history since our last pre season friendly. If United win its a pre season game. If liverpool wun it mattered. Remember the rules.
HRH, your better off ignoring some of the stupid WUM comments, they get even more desperate if you do
Don't worry I've already proved to Mr mong that we're playing youngsters, squad players, and a couple of new signings. 2 of the spine of our team aren't even there - Lovren and Sturridge. Lallana is injured.....I could go on and on. But it goes in one ear and out the other with Custard. Matth has clearly rubbed off on him
