"Brian Flynn, the manager Blackpool almost appointed at the beginning of the summer, was present at Bloomfield Road during the side's 1-0 defeat by Burnley on Saturday. However, a senior Blackpool member of staff later told Sportsmail that Flynn was there in a scouting capacity at the request of Hull City. The Humberside club were not available for comment on Saturday evening." http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...tml?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490 So who do you think we sent him to scout?
You could just be scouting a relatively unknown relegation rival ahead of the new season? Cant see you wanting anyone from Blackpool and the desirable players at Burnley definitely won't be for sale.
We don't play them until November so not much point in checking them out now in friendly match as there will be plenty of league matches to watch them in.
Everyone had their price and I am sure Burnley wouldn't be in a position to turn down 4-7 million. I'm not saying we are a mega rich club with massive spending power but we have proven that the resources are in place and I'm guessing Burnley are much like the time we where first promoted. Over achieved, in prepared and financially not able to compete. I don't mean to sound arrogant or think we are better than we are.
Not really a good idea against a patched up team like Blackpool. Reports say that manager Riga is setting Blackpool up for being very defensive. Burnley found it hard to break them down regardless of the number of trialists in the Blackpool squad.
