    Stoke defender on Swansea radar

"Swansea City are reported to be one of nine clubs who are said to be interested in signing Stoke right-back Geoff Cameron. Stoke defender on Swansea radar The 29-year-old was given an extended leave of absence having featured for the USA at the World Cup and returned to the Britannia Stadium this week unsure of where his future lies. Boss Mark Hughes' decision to bring in Phil Bardsley on a free transfer has cast doubt over his role as first-choice right-back at the club and nine teams are said to have been in contact with the Potters regarding a transfer. Swansea are one of those clubs keen on Cameron as they seek to bolster their defence but they face a fight to land him with Premier League rivals Hull, Southampton, West Brom and Sunderland also keen, while four sides from Germany have also taken an interest. Hughes is said to be keen to hang on to Cameron due to his versatility but may be forced to sell as the club look to balance the books following the arrivals of Bojan, Bardsley, Steve Sidwell, Mame Biram Diouf and Dionatan Teixeira this summer. Stoke paid £2million for Cameron two years ago and will hope to make a profit on the defender who has proven himself in the Premier League."

Swansea manager Garry Monk has confirmed that Kyle Naughton is a target for the club but admits that no offer has been made as of yet.

'Garry Monk has revealed that Kyle Naughton is one of a "number of players" that Swansea are chasing ahead of the new Premier League campaign.

The club are looking for a full-back to replace Ben Davies, who made the move to Tottenham earlier in the window and Naughton could head the other way as his replacement.

The versatile English defender can play at left-back, though is naturally a right-sided defender and has played on both flanks for Spurs over the past two seasons.

Reports earlier this week suggested that the Swans had made an approach for the 25-year-old, but Monk claims that no offers have been made for any of their targets as of yet.

"We're looking at a number of players. We're going to get linked with players left, right and centre and I think we've been linked with just about everyone this summer.

"We are looking at him [Naughton], but we're looking at a number of players. We're talking about a player who's with another club, so I don't want to disrespect anyone.

"That's just me looking. We've made no offer for any other player. We have to find the right target and do the right deal to bring them into the club,"
Monk said speaking to the South Wales Evening Post.

Danny Rose signed a new five-year contract a Spurs this week and Naughton looks surplus to requirements at the club as a result following the capture of Davies and Kyle Walker's return to action.

Naughton has made over 60 appearances for Tottenham since making the move from Sheffield United in 2009 but has failed to establish himself as a regular in the starting lineup, with his best run in the side coming at the end of the last campaign as a result of Walker's injury problems.

A move to Swansea could see the defender shine consistently as a regular starter, though no move has been made yet according to the Swansea boss.'

I guess they can "say" what they like. But KNOWING,ah now that's a whole different ballgame. Vorm's fee was "undisclosed" according to the Club.

He would be a good signing for us, just a shame he is 29 would prefer someone around 24 to replace Rangel long term.

Wilfried Bony Would Prefer Bundesliga Switch Over Liverpool Move, Says Agent

Swansea City star Wilfried Bony is eager for European football next season amid mounting interest from Liverpool, but his agent has revealed the striker would also be keen on a move to Wolfsburg.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has made six signings this summer but his biggest challenge remains in finding a replacement for Luis Suarez, who completed his move to Barcelona last month.

After Loic Remy's proposed move to Anfield collapsed after the Frenchman failed a medical, Liverpool are understood to have made Ivorian international Bony their new target to fill the void left by the Uruguayan.

Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins recently revealed the striker is available for the right price but Liverpool's attempts are likely to be complicated by interest from Wolfsburg as Bony is keen to test himself in the Bundesliga.

Speaking to regional newspaper Wolfsburger Nachrichten as reported by Sky Sports, Bony's representative Dalibor Lacina said: "Wilfried is out to play in a European club competition as much as he is out to play in a big European league. The Bundesliga is a league tempting to Wilfried. He would fit the bill at Wolfsburg."

Wolfsburg themselves have been frustrated in their attempts to add a goal scorer to their ranks this summer. The club initially tried to sign Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid only for Juventus to secure his signature, while Romelu Lukaku was also a target before he signed a permanent deal with Everton.

With both the Bundesliga side and Liverpool chasing a striker, Swansea are likely to find themselves in a position where they can make a substantial profit on the £12m they spent on bringing Bony to the Premier League from Vitesse Arnhem last summer.

Swans manager Garry Monk told reporters this week it would take an "astronomical" bid to prise the 25-year-old away from the Liberty Stadium, but the club chairman Jenkins has taken a different approach regarding the striker's future.

"Wilfried Bony is a fantastic professional," Jenkins told talkSPORT. "If a top Champions League club comes in, and puts the right offer on the table, then of course we will speak to him.

"There are no issues with Bony. He is a great guy to have around the club. As much as we want players to stay with us for a number of years, we have to be open."

I forgot to mention I think you'll be glad you got Gylfi back, on balance. He always seemed like a 15 goal 10 assist player if we started him regularly. I've watched him more closely than most thanks to an Icelandic course I took once. The moment he looked like he'd won a starting spot was the moment AVB got sacked. If we're lucky both teams benefit: Davies wills start for us when Gylfi didn't, and Gylfi will score enough to make him a good swap for Davies.

As for Vorm...I'm hoping it doesn't mean Lloris will go to PSG or somewhere else soon, but it is the simplest conclusion.

Anyway, good luck this year. I enjoy watching Swansea.

I think you'll see a few of these:

    From tonights Evening Post:

GARRY Monk admitted he remains on the lookout for "two or three" new faces after Swansea City conitnued their pre-season preparations with victory at Reading.
Swansea won 3-1 in their penultimate warm-up game ahead of the new Premier League campaign thanks to Wayne Routledge's double and a second goal in as many appearances for Bafetimbi Gomis.

The visit to Manchester United on the opening day of the season is now just a fortnight away, but Monk conceded he is still working hard to bolster his squad.
"We want that depth to give us competition and we want to add that quality to the squad," said the Swansea boss. "I want competition everywhere and two or three signings will be great for me, but that's dictated by budgets so we'll see.

"I hope we can get it done before Old Trafford but I won't rush it and bring someone in for the sake of it, it has to be the right person. "That's something I'm conscious of. The people we've brought in have been brought in for a reason and it will be the same with every signing. "We've looked at a number of people in a number of different positions and people I would like to bring in I'll keep to myself. "I'll work closely with the chairman and idenitfy the targets we want and hopefully do some business."

Monk has already landed six new faces this summer in the shape of Gomis, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Jefferson Montero, Marvin Emnes, Lukasz Fabianksi and Stephen Kingsley.
But a number of players have also gone the other way, hence there is still room for signings. However, the biggest transfer issue for Monk right now probably surrounds Wilfried Bony - and ensuring he does not go. "I'm not counting down the days to the end of the window or anything like that," Monk insisted. "It doesn’t bother me because there's nothing you can do about speculation. "Unless there's a concrete offer that we think is good for us and we want to do business, it doesn't matter.
"Even then we're in control so all of that doesn't matter because it's speculation. Wilfried's our player and you could see from his commitment again against Reading where his head's at.

"He's a great professional and he knows that unless anything changes, he has to be committed to Swansea City." Bony missed a penalty at Reading, but did have a hand in both Routledge's goals. Gomis sealed what was a comprehensive win after Nick Blackman's long-ranger gave Reading some hope.
"All in all I'm happy with the performance," Monk said. "There's still some work to do but I'm pleased with more players getting more minutes under their belt, some with their first 90 which is important from a fitness point of view.

"But it was also pleasing from in terms of what we're trying to do as a side."

I'm not sure what shape Matthews is in these days, but I like the idea of having another Jack in the team - only if he is good enough though. <ok>

He's one who was missed by our crap local scouting system. It seems to have improved recently, but over the years it's been diabolical.

Are we not mugs for reading and discussing the lies and speculation that football journalists come up with. They are a bunch of knobs who couldn't hold down a real job to increase the wealth of the country. Roll on the 16th so we can have some real football to discuss.

Adam Matthews would be a good signing and a long term replacement for Rangel.

    Can't see Chico going though.
