Yep our signings seem to be dragging on this summer so I'll not expect them to happen on any predicted schedule. Clasie would be an odd one. We're so heavily stocked in that area of the pitch.
Why panic about the start of the season? There is one month of the window left. Judge what has been done on September 2nd.
So what if we do. Marathon. Sprint. Not. I'm not impatient and I'd rather we got this right. I will let Ron get on with it and see how we look after ten games. Were you one panicking after 4 games under Nigel? Our season will not be unhinged at Anfield.
We do want to give ourselves the best chance against Liverpool though, at present we've a passable starting XI, but if anything happened to Fonte, Boruc, Pelle, Clyne, Tadic then it's kids or players who have already proven themselves to not be up to task. Would prefer a CB & Winger at least before the Leverkusen friendly
Of course, but it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. We have a month to get the squad right. Remember Koeman didn't get here til end of June. There are too many fans treating this like FM. I'm Happy that Koeman is taking a look and getting the right deals sorted.
That is way too rational and sensible thinking FLT....You can almost devide this forum into 2 groups, the older, more patient posters and the impatient, impetuous younger ones. Anyone can see that this is the most transitional season since the first one under Pardew after Markus took us over. It is imperative that we get the right personnel in on the right deals to rebuild a squad that has the right spirit and is all pulling in the right direction. I have complete faith in our management and scouting to get the players in that will enhance a young, talented group.
I'm not saying the Liverpool game is vital to our season at all. I just don't want to get embarrassed.
Outside chance of getting something, but main things will be giving them a game and gaining experience from it.
