problem... to who... to you its home territory.. to an isreali gaza is home territory. to an irish peornsi n NI its not home territory for brisitsh army and for a palestinian its certainly an occupying force. Thisi s classic outsiders fro ma distance applying all sorts. I'd suggest with repsect each case is entierly different and its best to stick with the one going on right now.
I said before dave we are all men here and when the season starts we are all red. But your version is the flawed version if you take dongas quote from his dad "As my father used to say, had he, a member of Bomber Command, gone into occupied territory without his uniform and dog-tags on active service and been caught by the enemy he would have had no rights and been summarily executed." That from a member of the Bomber Command.
Hash, as I agreed, we are all red and should look towards those things that unite us. So whilst I can't accept that the British Army went into occupied territory, I'm not arguing the issue further.
Irish senator on Israel Gaza, a bit of truth here, including the fact israel created Hamas to spit Fatah of which senator Norris had confirmed by the Israelis some years ago, he lived there.
Queues of ambulances with injured people and a crowd are fair targets for the IDF aswell it seems Of course this is self defence. They destroyed 20 ambulances in the last intifada.
Are you being deliberately obtuse? You're either idiotically naïve or cynically opportunistic not to appreciate that I was talking about Nazi occupied Europe, in his case: or to mainland Britain on 'active service' (i.e planting bombs in supermarkets and murdering 16-year-old cadets) as in the case of the IRA.
Donga, hash is from Co Cork and as such has an opposite view to the view held by the majority of British people regarding the years from 1969 up until the peace accord in the 6 counties of Ulster under British rule. There were atrocities on both sides but the loyalist murders weren't highlighted on the ITV/BBC news bulletins back then, of course its correct to be outraged when innocent human beings are slaughtered and your point of view about it not being a real war is based on your views as a British citizen, but on the flip side the opposite view can be and is taken by hash and others based on their perception of Irish/British history. Let's put the Irish argument to bed because its obvious there will be no agreement on this thread, better we all go back on topic.
Well my final word, as someone with two Irish great-grandparents, is that the British history on the island of Ireland is shameful, and atrocities have been committed by UK troops since 1969, as they have by the various paramilitary groups, but it is ****ing preposterous to compare what Israel is now doing in Gaza with Britain's occupation of the six counties in the last 90 years, except to use it as a juxtaposition in relation to Israel's overreaction. And if I can have this conversation with family and friends and disagree without falling out, I don't see why I can't with friends and fellow Reds' supporters on an internet forum. Love and peace to all. And I STILL haven't got a working donation link for the innocents in Gaza!
Holocaust survivor on Israel's actions in Palestine, he spent 10 months in Auschwitz No one more qualified to compare what happened then to what is happening now if you ask me
This is intriguing; http://www.independent.co.uk/news/u...wrong-over-gaza-says-ed-miliband-9644670.html Why would it be considered to be 'playing politics' for the leader of HM Opposition to reflect the overwhelming public view that our spineless PM isn't even remotely taking Israel to task for the monstrosity of Gaza. Surely we live in a democracy and 'playing politics' is what we're supposed to peacefully do in such a situation.
They create the problem over 7 decades and now this f**ing reasoning, after "is genocide permissible" now we have "Gaza must go" The only durable solution requires dismantling Gaza, humanitarian relocation of the non-belligerent Arab population, and extension of Israeli sovereignty over the region. http://www.jpost.com/Opinion/Columnists/Into-the-fray-Why-Gaza-must-go-368862 Well that's f**ing convenient, I mean it's not like you have been trying to drive them out for generations or anything right? f**ing scumbags, racist dirt So, kill them for decades and take their land, prevent a society thriving and prevent it advancing. Then when you are not happy wiith the results of what you created, use it as an excuse to finish what you started 70 years ago. Israel is a terrorist state and no f**ing different from the Nazis. The US backing this just shows the inherent evil of that government, which is well known, but for the UN and EU in general to stand idle by while this happens is inexcusable.
This war did not start over tunnels, now it is all about tunnels, which bring in more food and medica supplies than weapons. The Teens The rockets Now the tunnels, because this allows Israel to continue even after Hamas stop, as even said by netanyahu. Why are the tunnels needed? because israel has Gaza on a diet, because people get sick and need medicine. How humiliating a people have to dig under ground and tunnel to get what they need, it is not all about the rockets or weapons. No one talks about Israel pilfering all the aid sent to Gaza either, taking what they like. if one has doubts, remember the humanitarian missions by sea, the IDF illegally borded the ships took control of them and even tried to force the sailors and activists to sign statements that they illegally entered Israeli territory even though they were borded in international waters, they then took the ships and went through the supplies. I mean, they bleeding killed some of the people trying to help in a humanitarian situation and no weapons were found on the ships. The evidence is endless of what is happening but the BBC and the media in general just make out oh it's all because of a group that appeared 60 years after Israel's campaign against Palestinians began. Insanity, has the world gone f**ing mad! Genocide and ethnic cleansing can now happen right in front of our eyes. I have no f**ing faith in humanity, people just close their eyes and say, "this is depressing, talk about something else" while genocide goes on. Everyone should be protesting and running amok on their local government representatives at the very least.. In football terms if you want football please log in to view this image
